Patent number: 10946995Abstract: An egg transfer module is provided. Such a device includes an egg securing device configured to grasp an egg. A free-moving ejector is associated with the egg securing device and configured to freely move in relation thereto. An abutment is provided in spaced relationship to the egg securing device. The free-moving ejector is configured to interact with the abutment to cause movement of the free-moving ejector with respect to the egg securing device, thereby displacing the egg from the egg securing device. Associated systems and methods are also provided.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 2019Date of Patent: March 16, 2021Assignee: Zoetis Services LLCInventors: William Dongwook Suh, Christopher John Williams, Michael Glenn Schnupper, James Dennis Clarke, Jr.

Patent number: 10798921Abstract: A pathogen reduction tool implementing a method of processing eggs at a poultry hatchery is provided. Such a method includes setting a production quantity of avian eggs in a setter incubator, the eggs being maintained in a plurality of egg flats. The avian eggs are removed from the setter incubator on a predetermined day of incubation, such predetermined day being during about day nine to day twelve of incubation. Subsequent to removal of the avian eggs from the setter incubator, the avian eggs are subjected to an egg detection system on the predetermined day to determine which of the avian eggs are viable and non-viable. The non-viable avian eggs are removed from the egg flats on the predetermined day. The viable avian eggs remaining in the egg flats post-inspection by the egg detection system are incubated through hatch.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 2018Date of Patent: October 13, 2020Assignee: Zoetis Services LLCInventor: Christopher John Williams

Patent number: 9658192Abstract: In a general methodology for insulation defect identification in a generator core, a Chattock coil is used to measure magnetic potential difference between teeth. Physical knowledge and empirical knowledge is combined in a model to predict insulation damage location and severity. Measurements are taken at multiple excitation frequencies to solve for multiple characteristics of the defect.Type: GrantFiled: January 16, 2013Date of Patent: May 23, 2017Assignees: Siemens Corporation, Siemens Energy, Inc.Inventors: Xuefei Guan, Jingdan Zhang, Shaohua Kevin Zhou, Mark W. Patent number: 8830873Abstract: A system and method for interconnecting nodes and routing data packets in high radix networks includes constructing or redefining a network structure to provide improved performance. Computation and data storage nodes are connected to a network of switching nodes that provide near optimum bandwidth and latency for networks of any size. Specialized interconnection patterns and addressing methods ensure reliable data delivery in very large networks with high data traffic volume.Type: GrantFiled: May 8, 2012Date of Patent: September 9, 2014Assignee: Infinetics Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Ratko V. Tomic, Christopher John Williams, Leigh Richard Turner, Reed Graham Lewis

Publication number: 20040040511Abstract: A method of introducing a substance into an avian egg such that potential contamination is substantially reduced includes removing an avian egg containing a live avian embryo from an incubator; applying a sanitizing fluid to the shell of the egg to kill pathogens attached thereto; forming an opening in the shell; inserting an injection device through the opening; releasing a substance into the egg via the needle; retracting the injection device from the egg; and applying a sanitizing fluid to the needle to kill pathogens attached thereto. Prior to injection, the sanitizing fluid is applied to substantially the entire surface of the egg shell.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 25, 2003Publication date: March 4, 2004Inventor: Christopher John Williams
