  • Patent number: 7200935
Abstract: Improved work roll, particularly for use in closed gap rolling, has a composite structure comprising a cylindrical outer layer (14) made of steel, and providing the work surface of the roll, separated from a steel core (12) by an intermediate layer (13) of material such as aluminium or copper having a lower Young's modules than that of the layer (14). Provided that the dimensions of the outer layer (14) and intermediate layer (13) are chosen appropriately, this combination can release a work roll having an affective Young's modules which is lower than that of steel whilst at the same time retaining the advantages of a steel work surface and enabling higher rolling speeds.

  • Patent number: 7201864
Abstract: The cycle time for a rotomolding process is improved through the use of a molding material comprising a blend of at least two polyethylenes having narrow molecular weight distributions and homogeneous comonomer distributions. Alternatively, the molding temperature may be reduced to conserve energy and reduce energy costs. The polyethylene blend also has a narrow molecular weight distribution of less than 3 and a density of from 0.930 to 0.950 g/cc. Rotomolded parts prepared from the blend composition have excellent impact resistance and are also resistant to warpage. A preferred process employs a blend composition which contains a blend component having a higher molecular weight and a lower density than another blend component—this blend may be used to prepare rotomolded parts with warpage resistance and improved environmental stress crack resistance (ESCR). A highly preferred process uses a blend composition which further contains a minor amount (from 0.

  • Patent number: 7201292
Abstract: A liquid flow-restriction device has a plurality of flow-restriction passages connected to a common outlet. Each flow-restriction passage has a magnetically operable valve having a valve member movable between an open position and a closed position. The valves are operated by a common actuating element selectively positionable with respect to the valve members to open the valves. The actuating element is a permanent magnet. The device is simple and allows easy selection of a flow rate to a dilution dispenser.

  • Patent number: 7203761
Abstract: A home agent, attached to a home network, receives, adapts and forwards messages intended for a mobile node attached to one of a plurality foreign networks. The home agent, having received a message, passes the message on to a processing unit to assess whether the message should be adapted so as to be compatible with the destination foreign network and to adapt the message accordingly. The adapted message is returned to the home agent to be encapsulated and tunnelled to a foreign agent attached to the destination foreign network. The foreign agent decapsulates the message and passes it on to the mobile node. This method has the advantage that the mobile node is able to receive messages regardless of the type of network to which it is attached.

  • Patent number: 7198588
Abstract: A method for controlling engine idle in a vehicle having a motor connected to the engine through a power transfer unit is provide. Upon receiving a neutral command, the engine torque is commanded to approximately zero. The motor torque is adjusted to maintain an approximately constant engine speed as the engine torque is reduced. The torque from the engine transferred to the vehicle wheels is at or near zero. When the torque at the vehicle wheels is non-zero, a second motor is used to cancel the torque output from the engine so the torque at vehicle wheels is zero. When the engine torque has reached approximately zero, or when a predetermined amount of time has past, both motors are shutdown, and all of the remaining engine torque is transferred to the first motor through the power transfer unit.

  • Patent number: 7188127
Abstract: Provided are a method, system, and program that processes a file request to operate on a target file that is directed to a file system. A determination is made as to whether a rule specifies a file attribute satisfied by the target file. In response to determining that the target file satisfies the file attribute of the determined rule, a determination is made as to whether a condition specified by the determined rule is satisfied. In response to determining that the condition is satisfied, an action specified by the determined rule is performed. • Patent number: 7171621
Abstract: Inbound messages are reformatted so that they are compatible with a user interface and database found in a local area network. Local software provides a user interface with a message display area. The format of the area includes parameters such as line length and displayable lines. A user receives a message by electronic mail, copies it, and attempts to paste it into the message display area. The message is automatically reformatted according to the parameters of the message display area format. This displays the message without distortion and impediment upon other elements of the interface. The reformatted message can also be saved in the database and will appear in the correct format when it is retrieved.

  • Patent number: 7155168
Abstract: A method and apparatus for identifying which one of a plurality of mobile terminals in communication with a ground-based base station, via a transponded satellite, is causing interference with a non-target satellite orbiting in a vicinity of the transponded satellite. The method involves using the base station to sequentially check each of the mobile terminals to identify which one is causing the interference. The check is made by the base station commanding each mobile terminal to modulate the power level of its transmitted signals and then checking with an operator of the interfered with non-target satellite to see if the interference condition has changed. Once the mobile terminal causing the interference condition is identified, the base station can command the mobile terminal to reduce its transmit power accordingly.
