  • Patent number: 10345209
Abstract: A fusion bead testing device is provided for testing the strength of a fusion bead removed from a pipe joint. The testing device comprises a first pressing means for exerting a force against the fusion bead. If the fusion bead splits as a result of the applied force then the fusion bead fails a quality control test and the fusion bead and consequently the pipe joint from which the bead was removed are deemed too weak. The fusion bead testing apparatus comprises an automatic split detection device for detecting a split in the bead.

  • Patent number: 9336287
Abstract: An integrated network flow and security information management system and method is provided, more particularly, an integrated network flow and security information management system and method which leverages a process of superimposing and cross referencing common events and attributes in order to increase the speed of searches, completeness of searches and size of dataset (flow data). In particular, the process of superimposing may increase the amount of information that can be processed, while accelerating the search, thereby providing the user with more responsive acts of pivoting and scoping leading to a more complete response to network errors and threats.

  • Patent number: 8986316
Abstract: A multi-positional dual drill guide for use in orthopedic surgical procedures provides two independent drill guides which are independently, pivotally and removably secured along a pivotal drill guide plate comprising two separate and independent guide plate sections, selectively aligning each of the two drill guides for drilling an intersecting bone channel into a common bone from different locations for the passage of a suture and associated tissue during an orthopedic repair of a joint. The drill guide provide for three dimensional movement of the drill guides to provide a range of drilling angles from nearly zero degrees up to 180-degrees apart and in a three dimensional array, the drill.

  • Patent number: 8685037
Abstract: A pair of clamps are attached to a damaged linear or non-linear bone one each side of a fracture site during a surgical reduction, one clamp on each side of the fracture site, after which the two clamps are slidably engaged to a pivotal alignment bar, with the clamps then being adjusted to properly align the linear or non-linear bone for a surgical attachment using a bone plate. The pivotal alignment bar provides at least one pivotal ball joint which may be aligned as a straight bar for a linear bone or adjusted to an angle for non-linear bones to achieve optimal alignment of the bone. Each clamp provides axially adjustable plate retainers which slides along a track on the end of each segment of the each clamp to position the retainers at a location where the bone plate is to be attached to the bone.

  • Patent number: 8579950
Abstract: A pair of clamps are attached to a damaged bone one each side of a fracture site during a surgical reduction, one clamp on each side of the fracture site, after which the two clamps are slidably engaged to a single alignment bar, with the clamps then being adjusted to properly align the bone for a surgical attachment using a bone plate. Each clamp provides axially adjustable plate retainers which slides along a track on the end of each segment of the each clamp to position the retainers at a location where the bone plate is to be attached to the bone. Upon positioning, the bone plate is held against the bone with the bone still in proper alignment wherein screws anchor the plate to the bone, stabilizing the fracture site during the plate attachment procedure.

  • Patent number: 8475436
Abstract: A steerable surgical instrument provides a steerable tip guided through tissue in a pathway other than linear, the steerable surgical instrument having a fixed handle and a trigger which, when pushed downward, elevates the tip in an upward direction and when pulled towards the fixed handle, lowers the top in a downward allowing the steerable surgical instrument to be guided through tissue in a bi-directional curved pathway, resulting in a reduction of damage to collateral tissue during the surgical procedure.

  • Patent number: 7930760
Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques of using a centralized rule database to control the abilities of software processes to perform actions with regard to resources provided by a computer. As described herein, each software process executing in a computer executes within a chamber and each resource provided by the computer is associated with a canonical name that uniquely identifies the resource. Furthermore, the computer stores a set of security rules in a centralized rule database. In addition, this disclosure describes techniques of enforcing the rules stored in the centralized rule database.
