Abstract: Devices, systems and methods are disclosed for capturing a display by storing graphical commands and generating video data using the graphical commands at a later point in time. For example, a device may store graphical commands while generating display data associated with the graphical commands. The device may modify the graphical commands to replace data included in the graphical commands with pointers to the data. Optionally, the device may transmit the graphical commands to a server. The device and/or server may identify the data referenced by the pointers, execute the graphical commands to generate display data and encode the display data to generate a video of the original display.

Abstract: A system for registering an input-limited device such as a media player with a captive access point that requires completion of a portal web page prior to allowing client devices access to a network such as the Internet. Such captive access points are commonly found in hotels, and may be used for both freely provided public WiFi and for connections that require providing payment. For registration, the input-limited device operates as a proxy, relaying communications with the captive access point back-and-forth to a second device with rich user-input capabilities via an independent communications channel. Registration information is provided to the access point as though it originated with the media player, allowing the media player to acquire access to the network.

Audio may also be divided into components prior to packetization and transmission, allowing different channels of audio to be sent to different target devices. Audio may be sent with timing information to coordinate playback of content. Audio may be buffered to reduce user noticeable latency.

Abstract: Images displayed on a source device may be displayed on a target device. The source device may send the target device graphical commands and information to be processed natively at the target device, rather than duplicating the screen of a source device at the target device. Graphical elements to be used by the target device may be sent with the graphical commands or may be sent during out-of-band configuration exchanges between the source and target devices to reduce latency during display sharing.
