  • Patent number: 10531199
Abstract: A vehicle sound system and method of generating sound having a plurality of frequency responses are provided. The vehicle sound system includes selecting each of a plurality of acoustic panel assemblies based on a frequency range of sound pressure vibrations the acoustic panel assembly is capable of generating, and positioning the plurality of acoustic panel assemblies within a vehicle at a respective locations within the vehicle based on the frequency range of sound pressure vibrations the acoustic panel assembly is capable of generating.

  • Patent number: 10313795
Abstract: A method for generating sound by one or more sound panels in a vehicle, and a sound system are provided. The method includes receiving, by an acoustic exciter coupled to one of the one or more sound panels, a first audio signal. The first audio signal includes a first frequency range. Each of the sound panels is formed of a material having a respective flexural modulus. The method further includes generating, by each of the sound panels, a sound signal comprising a respective range of sound pressure vibrations dependent on the flexural modulus of the sound panel, variations of dimensions of the sound panel, and the first audio signal received by the acoustic exciter.

  • Patent number: 10041582
Abstract: Some embodiments are directed to a control system for use with a vehicle having handlebars that are configured to enable vehicle steering. The handlebars define a pair of grasping portions that are disposed to facilitate grasping by a vehicle operator's hands. The vehicle also includes a powertrain and an accessory. The control system includes a manually actuable primary selector disposed adjacent one of the grasping portions to enable manual actuation while one of the vehicle operator's hands grasps the one grasping portion. The primary selector is configured to operate in a powertrain mode to control an aspect of the powertrain, and to operate in a separate accessory mode to control an aspect of the accessory. A manually actuable override selector is disposed adjacent the one grasping portion. The override selector is configured to be manually actuable to switch the primary selector between the powertrain mode and the accessory mode.

  • Publication number: 20150046031
Abstract: A switchable mount system includes a switchable mount and an electronic control unit for switching the switchable mount between a first damping mode and a second damping mode. A method for controlling the switchable mount includes controlling the mount according to vehicle speed information, engine torque information, variable cylinder management information, and brake information. At least one of the damping modes may be tuned to damp vibrations approximately in the range approximately between 30 Hz and 60 Hz.
