  • Patent number: 9863412
Abstract: Dual cylinder and single cylinder rocking piston compressors with sound attenuation are disclosed. Due to the tapered shape of the intake and exhaust chamber sides and tops, the gas flow is accelerated and decelerated through the compressors thereby allowing sound energy to be dissipated. Sound attenuation is further enhanced by the addition of baffles, which divide each chamber into a series of smaller attenuation chambers. The baffles also cause the gas flow to accelerate and decelerate as the gas flow passes the baffles. In the case of a dual cylinder rocking piston compressor, enlarging the crossover passageway diameters also creates additional sound attenuation chambers, which contribute to the overall reduction in sound. Further, by using dedicated seals for each intake in the exhaust chamber, flow leakage at higher pressures is decreased, thereby improving compressor efficiencies.

  • Patent number: 9200635
Abstract: A regenerative blower is disclosed with a rotating impeller that includes a hub that includes a main body and a tapered outer periphery or volute that extends around the main body of the hub. The volute has a wide base that extends to a tapered volute tip. A plurality of vanes are spaced apart along the main body of the hub and intersect the volute. Each vane has a base coupled to or integral with the main body of the hub and a distal end extending radially away from the hub. Each vane has a downstream side and an upstream side. The downstream sides are concave and the upstream sides are convex. Each vane may also include a pair of side edges that are beveled inwardly towards the volute as the side edges extend from the downstream side of the vane to the upstream side of the vane.

  • Patent number: 8936451
Abstract: Rotary vane pumps include casings having asymmetrical cavities that accommodate a rotor. For a single pump chamber, one portion of the rotor abuts or nearly abuts the inner wall of the cavity at a single location while one portion of the rotor and the inner wall are not in contact with each other thereby defining a pump chamber. For a dual pump chamber embodiment, two diametrically opposed portions of the rotor abut or nearly abut the inner wall of the cavity while two portions of the rotor and inner wall are not in contact with each other thereby defining the two pump chambers. The two pump chambers are disposed on opposite sides of the minor axis of the cavity. The cavities of each pump are skewed so each pump chamber is larger in volume at the inlet end than at the outlet end.

  • Publication number: 20110143311
Abstract: A compact suction and separation device is shown and described. The suction and separation device includes a pump and a separator. The pump includes a vertically oriented rotary vane pump comprising a suction inlet and an exhaust outlet. The separator includes a collector configured to receive combinations of solids, liquids and air. The separator separates solids and/or liquids from the air. Air from the separator is routed from an air discharge into the suction inlet of the pump. Solids and/or liquids are drained from a liquids/solids discharge of the separator. The separator may be gravity-based or centrifuge-type separator driven by the pump motor.
