  • Patent number: 11983229
Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for controlling mobile devices with user equipment devices. A user equipment device may detect a mobile device is within a predetermined proximity to the user equipment device by establishing a bi-directional communication. The user equipment device may determine an input/output option of the mobile device. The input/output option may be a microphone, a cellular Internet connection, a camera, or any other sensor and/or actuator of the mobile device. The user equipment device may generate for display an icon corresponding to the input/output option of the mobile device.

  • Publication number: 20240133867
Abstract: A breath capture and analysis system includes a breath inlet for capturing a user's breath. The breath is drawn into the system and retained for analysis. The system includes a membrane that allows volatile organic compounds contained in the breath to pass therethrough. The volatile organic compounds pass into a vacuum chamber that includes a residual gas analyzer that is configured to analyze the volatile organic compounds. The analyzed breath is then vacated from the system.

  • Publication number: 20230259673
Abstract: This disclosure relates to a method for estimating a solution to a problem represented by a Hamiltonian on a quantum computer having a quantum state. A classical computer determines a trial state and evolves the quantum state of the quantum computer based on the trial state. The computer then determines estimates for expectation values with respect to the trial state of powers of the Hamiltonian based on measurements from the quantum computer and calculates an estimate of the solution based on the estimates for the expectation values of powers of the Hamiltonian for the trial state. The computer then repeated updates the trial state and repeats the measuring steps to iteratively improve the estimate of the solution.

  • Publication number: 20220138927
Abstract: This disclosure relates to automatic determination of locations of one or more closely spaced donor atoms implanted into a semiconductor crystal lattice. A processor receives image data generated by a scanning tunnelling microscope (STM). The image data is indicative of a tunnelling current between a scanning tip and the crystal lattice at multiple image locations. The processor applies a trained machine learning model to the image data to determine a classification into one of multiple candidate configurations of the one or more donor atoms. The multiple candidate configurations relate to different locations of the one or more donor atoms in the semiconductor crystal lattice. Based on an output of the trained machine learning model, the processor determines the location of the one or more donor atoms in the semiconductor crystal lattice.

  • Patent number: 11153327
Abstract: A data protection policy can specify which applications are allowed and/or dis-allowed from accessing cloud data that is subject to a data protection policy (i.e., data that has been assigned a classification and/or an owner.) To enforce that policy, the operating system (or other trusted entity) that stores or caches access credentials only provides these credentials to applications that are allowed by the policy. In this manner, because they are not provided with the credentials required to access the network resource, the dis-allowed applications cannot access the ‘protected’ data thereby helping prevent these dis-allowed (or non-compliant) applications from leaking data.

  • Publication number: 20210256413
Abstract: This disclosure relates to quantum computer arrays. In particular, a quantum processor comprises an array of source lines, drain lines and gate lines intersecting each other to define processor cells. Each of the processor cells comprise a first qubit, a second qubit and an electron confinement region disposed between the first qubit and the second qubit. A control circuit controls loading and unloading of an electron into the electron confinement region. The loading of the electron into the confinement region enables exchange interaction between electrons of the first qubit and the second qubit, and the unloading of the electron out of the electron confinement region suppresses exchange interaction between the electrons of the first qubit and the second qubit.

  • Patent number: 10898982
Abstract: A calibration device for a machine tool is described that includes a base attachable to a machine tool and a calibration artefact, such as a sphere of known radius. A deflection mechanism attaches the calibration artefact to the base and allows movement of the calibration artefact relative to the base when an external force is applied to the calibration artefact. The deflection mechanism also maintains the calibration artefact in a defined rest position relative to the base in the absence of an applied external force. A sensor is provided for sensing the extent of movement of the calibration artefact relative to the base. A method of using the device with a reference tool to accurately determine a position of a calibration artefact is also described.

  • Publication number: 20200214568
Abstract: An imaging assembly, system and method for automated multimodal imaging of biological tissue is provided. It finds particular application, although in no way exclusively, in the medical imaging of breast tissue. An optical 3D scanner is included to determine the shape of the surface of both breasts and output a plurality of 3D coordinates thereof. An X-ray generator is included for sequentially radiating X-rays at a plurality of angles, through the tissue, toward an X-ray detector positioned below the patient and thus the breasts. An articulated arm holding an ultrasound transducer at an end thereof automatically moves the ultrasound transducer along a path defined by the obtained 3D coordinates for ultrasound imaging of the breasts while maintaining the transducer in contact with the surface at an orientation required for ultrasound imaging.

  • Patent number: 10574459
Abstract: A facility for enrolling a software implementer in a code signing. In one example facility, the facility receives information identifying the implementer, and credentials authenticating the implementer. The facility generates secret state for the implementer. Based on at least one or both of (1) at least a portion of the received credentials and (2) at least a portion of the generated secret state, the facility generates for the implementer a key pair comprising a private key and a public key, and persistently stores the secret state.
