  • Patent number: 9359563
Abstract: One exemplary embodiment can be a process for initializing hydroprocessing. Generally, the process can include providing a hydrocarbon feed to a hydrotreating zone within which the hydrotreating temperature is catalytically limited, passing an effluent from the hydrotreating zone to a hydrocracking zone, and adding a gas to the effluent that has a higher temperature than the effluent. Thus, the temperature of the effluent may be raised, facilitating hydrocracking reactions within the hydrocracking zone.

  • Publication number: 20160115404
Abstract: A process for improving a recovery from a bottoms stream from a vacuum tower. The bottom stream is passed to a first cracking zone and unconverted material from the first cracking zone is passed to a second cracking zone. The first cracking zone may include a visbreaking reactor. The second cracking zone may include a slurry hydrocracking reactor.

  • Publication number: 20150231611
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are provided for producing hydrocarbons. A method includes contacting an aromatic rich feed stream including diolefins with a catalyst in the presence of hydrogen to react the diolefins with the hydrogen to produce mono-olefins. A deposit forms on the catalyst during reaction. The deposit is removed from the catalyst with a solvent, where the solvent includes about 50 mass percent or more aromatic compounds.

  • Patent number: 8350111
Abstract: One exemplary embodiment can be a method for processing polyisopropylbenzene for producing cumene. The method can include passing a transalkylation feed stream to a transalkylation zone, and passing a reaction product to a separation zone. Typically, the separation zone produces a stream including di-isopropylbenzene, tri-isopropylbenzene, and one or more heavy compounds. Moreover, the stream may include at least about 0.7%, by weight, of the one or more heavy compounds based on the weight of the di-isopropylbenzene, tri-isopropylbenzene, and the one or more heavy compounds in the stream, and at least a portion of the stream is recycled to the transalkylation zone.
