    Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method, apparatus and system for providing device group control including enabling each device of a set of devices to receive a broadcast command, determine if the command applies to the device, and take action if the command applies to the device. In one embodiment of the present invention a unique identifier is determined for each recipient device and the unique identifier for each recipient device for which the communication is intended is included with a broadcast or multicast message. Upon receiving the broadcast or multicast message, each recipient device examines the message for its unique identifier to determine if the communication is intended for the device.
