    Abstract: A unit dose liquid detergent package comprises a) a water insoluble and chemically inert package including a compartment, and b) a two layer liquid detergent composition contained in the compartment. The two layer liquid detergent composition comprises (i) surfactant, (ii) detergent enzyme and enzyme stabilizer, (iii) electrolyte in an amount sufficient to form two layers, a first layer comprising a substantial portion of the surfactant, and a second layer comprising a substantial portion of the enzyme and enzyme stabilizer, and (iv) water.
