Abstract: An audio/video (A/V) device may include or accommodate a viewer through a barrier. For example, an A/V device may include a first component for installation on an exterior surface of a door, a second component for installation on an interior surface of the door, a viewer that extends through an opening in the door, and a flexible connector that electrically couples the first component and the second component. In some instances, the first component may include an opening for the viewer, a camera, and an input device in substantial vertical alignment. The A/V device may further include a shutter that moves between a first position, in which the shutter is proximate to the viewer, and a second position, in which the shutter is not proximate the viewer. Additionally, the A/V device may include rings interposed between each of the first and second components and the door.

Abstract: A garage door is controlled to open using an audio/video (A/V) recording and communication device. The device detects a vehicle within an area about the garage door and receives, using a camera, image data representative of an object associated with the vehicle. The device also compares the image data representative of the object associated with the vehicle with previously stored image data and identifies the object based on the comparing of the image data representative of the object with the previously stored image data. The device also authenticates an electronic device within the vehicle that is associated with the object by wirelessly communicating with the electronic device and determines, based at least in part on the authenticating of the electronic device within the vehicle, that the vehicle is an authorized vehicle. The device also transmits an actuation command to the garage door to cause the garage door to open.

Abstract: A device mounting assembly includes a baseplate and a support arm. The support arm may couple with a device. The support arm is pivotable with respect to the baseplate about the hinge to define a plurality of mounting assembly configurations. In at least one configuration, the support arm is located in at least one groove of a first surface on a first side of the baseplate.
