  • Publication number: 20240093927
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for a method for controlling the temperature of a surface. In some embodiments, the method includes applying a variable input to a heat pump (e.g., a Peltier) in thermal communication with the surface. The variable input may vary about a voltage and may include a powered period and an unpowered period. In some embodiments, the method includes measuring a temperature of an element in thermal communication with the surface, determining, based on the temperature of the element, whether a temperature of the surface is within a safe temperature range for a user in thermal communication with the surface, in response to determining the surface is not within the safe temperature range, adjusting the voltage of the variable input to the heat pump, and in response to determining the surface is within the safe temperature range, continuing operation of the variable input at the voltage.

  • Patent number: 11922004
Abstract: Reduced-size user interfaces for providing weather information are disclosed. At an electronic device with a touch-sensitive display, indications of a location and a temperature at the location may be displayed. In some examples, a user may provide input through a touch on the touch-sensitive display and/or through a rotation of a rotatable input mechanism to display additional weather information, such as weather information for another location, another temperature, another time, and so forth. In some examples, the device may obtain data representing an upcoming activity, determine whether the activity is to begin within a threshold amount of time, and display weather information based on the upcoming activity. In some examples, the device may display an affordance at a position to indicate the time of day for which a weather condition is provided.

  • Publication number: 20240057593
Abstract: An abrasion resistant biocidal composition is disclosed. The composition includes at least one biocidal quaternary ammonium compound, a polymeric component comprising at least one selected film-forming polymer, and at least one selected organic acid. In some embodiments, the film-forming polymer may be a polyvinylpyrrolidone or chitosan. The organic acid may be methanesulfonic acid, a selected carboxylic acid, a selected amino acid, or a combination thereof. When applied to a surface, the composition forms a film having enhanced durability without imparting poor surface feel or visual effects, and provides biocidal efficacy over an extended period of time.

  • Publication number: 20220324650
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for sorting or retrieving items to/from a plurality of destinations areas. The items are loaded onto one of a plurality of independently controlled delivery vehicles. The delivery vehicles follow a path to/from the destination areas that are positioned along the path. Along the path, the vehicles are scanned to determine if any item on the vehicles extends beyond a dimensional constraint. If it is determined that an item on a vehicle extends above the pre-determined threshold, the vehicle is controlled, such as by stopping or re-directing the vehicle. Once at the appropriate destination area, an item is transferred between the delivery vehicle and the destination area.

  • Publication number: 20220182755
Abstract: Systems and methods herein provide directed sound to venues, including a queue line and locations offering multiple viewing devices with different audio streams. Directed sound can be sent to various locations in the queue line to reach specific individuals, positions in the queue line, etc. A queue rate may be used to determine current locations in the queue line. The directed transmission of sound waves can provide the directed sound through modulation of the sound on an ultrasonic carrier. In connection with directing sound to a specific location in a venue, one or more individuals can be tracked according to an indoor positioning system to send a sound message using a modulated ultrasonic carrier.
