Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for delivering a fragmented advertisement to a group of users identified as a group of participants for the fragmented advertisement. As used herein, a fragmented advertisement is an advertisement that includes two or more advertisement fragments each to be delivered to a different participant in a group of participants identified for the fragmented advertisement, where the two or more advertisement fragments encourage interaction between participants to achieve a predefined goal of the fragmented advertisement in order to obtain a corresponding advertisement benefit. For example, the predefined goal of a fragmented advertisement may be correctly answering a question (e.g., a trivia question), solving a puzzle, or the like. The advertisement benefit is preferably a coupon for a business, product, or service being advertised by the fragmented advertisement.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for applying a referral credit to an entity based on a geographic location of a computing device. According to an aspect, a method may include receiving a product identifier and a geographic location identifier of a computing device. The method may also include determining an interface with an online retailer server based on the product identifier. The method may also include applying a referral credit to an entity account associated with the geographic location identifier in response to the determined interface.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing content recommendations to a user based on aggregate profile data of other users that the user is predicted to encounter in the future are disclosed. In general, an aggregate profile is obtained for a predicted encounter of a first user. The aggregate profile is based on user profiles of a number of second users identified for the predicted encounter. In one embodiment, the predicted encounter is a predicted physical encounter. In another embodiment, the predicted encounter is a predicted remote encounter. One or more content recommendations are then obtained for the first user based on the aggregate profile for the predicted encounter. The content recommendation may be, for example, a recommended movie, a recommended television program, a recommended news article, a recommended user-generated video (e.g., a recommended video on YouTube.com), or the like.

Abstract: A system and method for predicting a future location of a user are provided. In general, a prediction basis including crowd data describing crowds in which a user was included during a number of reoccurring time windows is generated. Each reoccurring time window may be, for example, a day of the week (i.e., Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday), a portion of a day of the week (e.g., Monday Morning, Monday Afternoon, Monday Evening, Tuesday Evening, etc.), a day of the month (e.g., 1st day of the month), a day of the year (e.g., March 25th), or the like. The prediction basis of the user is then used to predict one or more future locations of the user.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for providing social crowd data for a number of social locations. In one embodiment, a social browsing system processes social crowd requests using social locations collected for users over time. In one embodiment, upon receiving a social crowd request, for each of one or more social locations identified for the social crowd request, the social browsing system identifies a social crowd for the social location. Optionally, the social crowds may be filtered. Social crowd data is generated for the social locations based on user profiles of the users in the corresponding social crowds. In one embodiment, the social crowd data is returned to a user device of a requesting user. In another embodiment, the social browsing system visualizes the social crowd data and returns the visualized social crowd data to the user device of the requesting user for presentation to the requesting user.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for providing private location tracking. In general, a location-aware mobile device includes a location broker. Over time, as a location of the mobile device changes, the location broker generates a number of route fragments each defining the location of the mobile device over a corresponding period of time. The location broker obfuscates the route fragments and sends the obfuscated route fragments to a remote server for storage. At some point, the location broker receives a location tracking request from a requestor. In response, the location broker processes the location tracking request such that one or more obfuscated route fragments that are relevant to the location tracking request are obtained from the remote server and de-obfuscated to recover the corresponding route fragments. The recovered route fragments may then be utilized by the requestor.

Abstract: Exemplary embodiments provide for optimizing operation of a radio program, wherein the radio program is operated by a host using a host process. Aspects include collecting and storing contextual information from participants of the radio program, the participants including listeners and callers of the radio program; analyzing the contextual information; and enabling at least one feature on the host process based at least in part on the contextual information.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for generating and displaying one or more indicators indicative of a level of activity within a media sharing system. In one embodiment, with respect to a user participating in the media sharing system, an indicator representative of an activity level of a media collection shared by the user in the media sharing system may be generated and presented to the user. In addition or alternatively, indicators representative of activity levels of media collections shared by other users participating in the media sharing system may be generated and presented to the user. Still further, in addition or alternatively, indicators representative of activity levels with respect to playlists in the media sharing system may be generated and presented to the user.

Abstract: The present invention is related to a computer system that provides a web page to a requestor over a network. Aspects of the present invention include receiving by the computer system a request to access a web page and in response, determining whether a descriptor for the requested web page is in a session memory. If the descriptor is not in the session memory, it is retrieved from a database and the stored in the session memory. From there, the descriptor is used to determine whether the web page should be retrieved and returned to the requestor. By storing the descriptor in session memory, additional accesses to the database can be avoided when the descriptor is used for subsequent tasks.

Abstract: A redundant hybrid peer-to-peer content sharing system is provided. In general, the system includes a proxy hosted by a central server and, for each user, a primary user device hosting a primary sharing engine and one or more secondary user devices hosting secondary sharing engines. The user's shared images are hosted by the primary user device, and, based on the capabilities of the secondary user devices, versions of the shared images are copied to the secondary devices. When a guest at a guest node desires to view a shared image, a request for the shared image is provided to the proxy. Generally, if the primary user device is online, the proxy forwards the request to the primary device. If the primary user device is offline, the proxy identifies one of the secondary user devices capable of serving the request and forwards the request to the identified secondary user device.

Abstract: A system and method for collaboratively providing configurations for a media environment are provided. In general, configuration events from a number of media environments are collected and provided to a Collaborative Configuration System (CCS) server. Based on the configuration events, the CCS server generates and provides recommended configurations to a media environment. The recommended configurations may be generated prior to or after receiving a request for recommended configurations from the media environment. In one embodiment, the recommended configurations are provided as a recommended configuration profile providing a set of configurations to be applied at the media environment. In another embodiment, the recommended configurations are provided as a CCS track associated with a particular media presentation. The CCS track includes configuration changes to be applied to the media environment for a number of time slices of the media presentation during playback of the media presentation.

The second computer system establishes a secure transaction session with the shopper, and then proceeds to process the order.

The content representation host may be, for example, an avatar in a virtual environment, a custom webpage of the hosting user, an identifier of the hosting user in a peer-to-peer (P2P) network, an identifier of the hosting user in a mobile network, or the like. Based on the content representation, a viewing user can determine whether content of interest is accessible from the hosting user. The viewing user may interact with the content representation to further explore the content made accessible by the hosting user and, if desired, initiate transfer of at least some of the content to a client device associated with the viewing user.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to enabling a potential participant to define preferences for a talk radio program. In one embodiment, via a radio client, a potential participant defines preferences for a talk radio program wherein the preferences include at least a topic of interest and a semantic relevance. In one embodiment, the participant preferences also include a time availability indicating when the potential participant is available to participate in the talk radio program. The radio client sends the preferences to a talk radio program service. When a talk radio program satisfying the preferences of the potential participant is scheduled or otherwise available, the talk radio program service notifies the potential participant. A topic of the talk radio program is semantically related to the topic of interest of the potential participant to at least a degree defined by the semantic relevance.
