  • Publication number: 20240058977
Abstract: A shaving device including a handle, a sharpening member, and a cartridge. The sharpening member includes an abrasive material. The cartridge couples to the handle. The cartridge also includes an arrangement of double-sided razor blades. Each of the double-sided razor blades includes a pair of shaving edges. The pair of shaving edges are arranged on opposing faces of the cartridge. When the shaving device is used for shaving with a first set of shaving edges of the pair of shaving edges, a second set of shaving edges of the pair of shaving edges contacts the abrasive material and are thereby sharpened.

  • Publication number: 20190189384
Abstract: A bipolar grid may be positioned between a cathode and an anode. The bipolar grid may receive a positive grid voltage that corresponds to a voltage in an electric field between the cathode and the anode such that the grid does not interfere with an electron beam generated by an electron emitter of the cathode. The bipolar grid may receive a negative grid voltage to isolate the electron emitter such that the electron beam does not reach the anode.

  • Publication number: 20140372153
Abstract: A computer system for processing risk mitigation data includes calculating line-of-business payout factors for computing losses associated with one or more instruments such that the losses substantially replicate industry losses, and is configured to determine payout amounts based on a value of an event index based on a load factor and, for at least two lines of business, a loss index by individual geographic region, and payout factors for selected combinations of individual geographic region and line of business for at least one of one or more risk classes, each risk class representing one or more risks, and reported industry loss data.

  • Patent number: 8805704
Abstract: Disclosed is a novel insurance product that provides additional reinsurance coverage to mitigate risks associated with catastrophic events which adversely affect property and casualty insurance rates. The reinsurance product contains one or more tiers of protection which allows a purchaser to vary the coverage related to one or more catastrophic events, such as an earthquake, a hurricane, or a flood.

  • Patent number: 4349095
Abstract: A coin discriminating apparatus comprises two coils on opposite sides of a path for coins, one coil being connected to a signal generator so as to give repetitive abrupt flux changes and a gating device being provided for short circuiting the other coil but removing the short circuit a predetermined time delay after each flux change. A circuit is responsive to the amplitude of a voltage pulse which is produced across said other coil in response to each removal of the short circuit to discriminate between coins. This apparatus may form the second test of a two-test coin discriminating apparatus, wherein the first test measures a phase displacement caused by the coin passing between another pair of coils and this measurement is used to set the time delay to one of selected values, according to the expected coin, so that the voltage pulse will be of a constant amplitude for valid coins.

  • Patent number: 4307391
Abstract: A portable, electronic, desk-top information display device for office use in recording and selectively displaying information, comprising a keyboard the keys of which are operable to control the operation of electronic circuitry forming part of the device, and a stationary display panel on which the said electronic circuitry is adapted to produce a matrix array of illuminated dots of other discrete display items in a multiplicity of substantially equi-distant columns, with each dot being illuminated independently of all the others, so as to permit a plurality of letters, numbers or other symbols to be displayed simultaneously across the panel with the majority of such symbols having a width of at least two columns.
