  • Publication number: 20240101165
Abstract: A locked-axle spring compression system and method configured to raise a rail vehicle wheel off a rail and transport the raised wheel along a rail is presented. In one embodiment, the present disclosure discloses a system that can raise the locked-axle rail wheel off the rail and allowing the locked-axle train to be transported off the main line. One or more coil springs can be disposed between the truck frame and the journal box to distribute the weight of the train and forces acting thereon. The present disclosure provides a technological solution missing from conventional systems by at least providing a platform for an actuator configured to exert a force on one or more train elements to compress the coil springs and allow the locked-axle wheel to be raised off a surface (e.g., railroad track rail), by overcoming the coil spring pressure to raise the wheel off the rail.

    Filed: August 30, 2023
    Publication date: March 28, 2024
    Applicant: BNSF Railway Company
Inventors: Henry R. Schafer, Mike E. Teaford, Christopher M. Romero, Edward M. Meyers, Timothy Webb, Ryan L. Kimberlin, Larry C. Valentine

  • Patent number: 8843075
Abstract: A RF distribution system determines its configuration and verifies the consistency of the determined configuration. Based on a device identifier, the RF distribution system may individually instruct each RF component to provide a generated signal. Consequently, a first RF component may modulate a signal on a first port. If a second RF component detects a modulated signal on a second port, then the RF distribution system deems that the two RF components are connected together. The procedure may be repeated for the remaining RF components so that the RF configuration of the RF distribution system may be determined. The determined RF configuration may be further verified for operational consistency. The RF distribution system may also scan a RF spectrum, determine a set of frequencies that provides RF compatibility with the RF distribution system based on the scanning, and configure the RF components in accordance with the set of frequencies.

  • Publication number: 20130025049
Abstract: A foldable bed includes an upstanding cabinet; a bed frame assembly; and a pair of shifting mechanisms for pivotally supporting the bed frame assembly to the cabinet so the bed frame assembly can be shifted between a raised, closed position and a lowered, open position. Each of the shifting mechanisms includes a hinge plate pivotally connected to the cabinet and integrally formed with a portion of the bed frame assembly and a piston coupled between the hinge plate and the cabinet for assisting with shifting of the bed frame assembly between the raised and lowered positions. The bed frame assembly broadly comprises a tray; a metal frame positioned on top of and attached to the tray; and a plurality of metal legs positioned below and attached to the tray and the metal frame.
