  • Publication number: 20130258573
Abstract: A cover for an electronic touchscreen device is provided. The cover includes a coupling member and a device housing, which secures therein the electronic touchscreen device. The coupling member includes a front plate that is releasably coupled to the device housing. The coupling member further includes a coupling body that releasably couples the cover to a user's vest, backpack, or other portable item. The front plate and the coupling body are configured to move with respect to one another to transition the cover between closed and open positions. The device housing further includes a housing lid and a housing body. The housing lid and housing body cooperate to secure therebetween the touchscreen device. The user operates the touchscreen device through the housing lid and conductive components thereof under the condition that the cover is in the open position. The device is protected in the closed position.

  • Patent number: 8348449
Abstract: A flashlight mounting system for a helmet of the type used by firefighters. The system has a light holder which is engageable with an adaptor on or secured to a helmet. A coupling is adjustable relative to the holder at engaging teeth and grooves to adjust the light and the path of the light beam. The adaptor and holder may be manually disengaged to change the orientation of the light or to allow the user to manually use the light and reattach the light in the original position without removing the helmet in dangerous environments and other environments. Inserts may be provided to adopt the light-receiving section to various styles, types and shapes of flashlights. The system allows the user to quickly adjust the flashlight and also allows the use of the light and holder with different helmets.

  • Publication number: 20120002046
Abstract: According to one embodiment, a display mount includes a helmet-mountable interface, a display interface, a cam arm, and an adjustment mechanism. The helmet-mountable interface is configured to removably couple the display mount to a helmet. The display interface is configured to couple the display mount to a display. The cam arm is configured to position the display interface in a plurality of positions comprising a storage position and a display position. The adjustment mechanism is configured to adjust, independent of the cam arm, a position of the display interface along an X-axis, a Y-axis and a Z-axis. The X-axis, Y-axis, and Z-axis are each orthogonal to each other. The adjustment mechanism includes a locking mechanism configured to lock an adjusted position of the display interface, such that the display interface mechanically returns to the locked adjusted position when the display interface transitions from the storage position to the display position.

  • Patent number: 5823486
Abstract: A flexible arm apparatus 1 that has a base clamp 10, a support arm 75, an interface attachment 100, and capable of receiving an attachment 131, 140, or 150. The base clamp 10 has a threaded knob 43 that is rotatably secured at two ends and is used to move a second jaw 17 relative to a first jaw 12. The rotation cup 80 is secured into the top of the base clamp 10 with a retainer ring 87. The rotation cup 80 receives a first end 77 of the support arm 75, and a second end 78 is received by the interface attachment 100. The interface attachment 100 comprises a lower interface component 101 and an interface-mid component 102. Changeable attachments 131, 140, and 150 are securable to the interface attachment by use of a pringle 131 or 141. The rotation cup 80 and the retainer ring 87 allow angular rotation of the first end 77 of the support arm 75 relative to the clamp base 10.
