  • Patent number: 10661797
Abstract: One or more techniques and/or systems are disclosed for limiting a speed of a vehicle. A speed control device, operably coupled with a vehicle management system, can be configured to limit an engine speed based at least upon: an identified speed of the vehicle; a pre-determined speed limit for a location of the vehicle, identified in real-time; and a pre-determined speed threshold for the vehicle. A networking component, communicatively coupled with the speed control device, can be configured to communicate wirelessly with a remote computing device to provide the speed threshold information from the remote computing device to the speed control device, and to provide vehicle-related information to the remote computing device. Additionally, the remote computing device can comprise an application that allows a user to provide the speed threshold information and receive the vehicle-related information.

  • Patent number: 7296424
Abstract: A mounting system is provided for mounting an air conditioner on the exterior of a building adjacent to a window with an opening defined by a window frame having a lower sill and a height to an upper horizontal frame member. The air conditioner includes a main cabinet and a removable air duct. The mounting system includes two mounting arms, each arm being attached at a first point to a wall of the main cabinet and at a second point being engaged to the frame of the window. The main cabinet is suspended from the two mounting arms such that when mounted, a top surface of the main cabinet is positioned at a height of no more than 10% of the height of the window opening above the sill. The mounting system may provide support for the air conditioner at three points, namely, the sill of the window, an inside casing of the window and an exterior surface of the building, without requiring any fasteners to be driven into any of these points.

  • Patent number: 6606878
Abstract: A room air conditioner is provided having an evaporator coil located in a front part of the room air conditioner, a condenser coil located in a back part of the room air conditioner, and a wall separating the front part from the back part. The wall prevents a free flow of air between the front part and the back part. A portion of the wall, extending less than a full width of the air conditioner, is formed of metal. An air moving device positioned in the front part creates an air stream flowing through the evaporator coil and out through an air outlet in a front grill of the air conditioner. An air housing surrounds at least a portion of the air moving device and forms an air flow path in the air conditioner, the air housing forming at least a part of the wall. The metal portion of the wall is mounted to the room air conditioner independently of the air housing.

  • Patent number: 5884495
Abstract: The invention is a dehumidifier comprising an adjustable float with a variable height cam surface that is in contact with the actuator of an interlock switch, which controls the supply of power to the refrigeration system of the dehumidifier. The float is rotatably mounted to the collection bucket of the dehumidifier and rotates as the bucket fills with liquid. At a sufficient amount of rotation, the cam surface will no longer be in contact with the actuator of the interlock switch, resulting in the removal of power from the refrigeration system. The float can be laterally adjusted so that a variable height cam surface is aligned with the actuator of the interlock switch to permit the user to vary the liquid level at which the interlock switch is activated to cut off power to the refrigeration system.

  • Patent number: 5579204
Abstract: A hard disk assembly including a disk drive assembly, and a carrier board is disclosed. The disk drive assembly includes a connector having a form factor corresponding to a particular interface specification, drive control electronics, and a disk drive unit. Additionally, the hard disk assembly may include an adapter to provide a mechanical and electrical interface between the connector associated with the disk drive assembly and a corresponding connector on a midplane of a disk storage subsystem. The disk drive assembly may be disposed in one of at least first and second predetermined locations on the carrier board. The adapter is employed to provide the appropriate mechanical and electrical interface between the connector of the disk drive assembly and the midplane connector of the disk storage subsystem.
