Abstract: A cutting apparatus having a ratcheting and non-ratcheting configuration for cutting food. The cutting apparatus includes a pair of handles with a cutting blade having a toothed portion and a non-toothed portion. In the ratcheting configuration, the cutting blade is held in position by a position holder, engaging the toothed portion of the cutting apparatus. In the non-ratcheting configuration, the position holder engages a separate non-toothed portion of the cutting blade. Additionally, in the non-ratcheting configuration, a bottom bar and top mechanism bar allows for the cutting apparatus to be locked into the non-ratcheting configuration.

Abstract: A magnetorheological finishing head comprising magnetic pole pieces, nozzle shape, and wheel shape tailored to maximize volumetric removal rate. The carrier wheel for a ribbon of magnetorheological fluid is aspherical, preferably a toroid having a short radius perpendicular to, and the long radius parallel to, the axis of rotation, although the shape of the wheel may be any aspherical or free form parallel to the wheel's axis of rotation, e.g., toroidal or cylindrical. A magnetic field is generated by shaping the pole pieces to create a substantially uniform magnetic field over a defined gap therebetween such that the field strength in the area of the fluid ribbon is uniform. The nozzle has a non-circular opening to provide a fluid stream having a width that covers the width range of the magnetic field. It is the combination of these three features that allows for a novel MRF removal function.

Abstract: Versatile cutting apparatuses are disclosed which are configured to hold food with a hard shell in place while a cutting blade cuts through the hard shell through a ratcheting mechanism. The apparatus also allows for the simple cutting through the shell. An automated ratcheting to nonratcheting mechanism is disclosed.

Abstract: Versatile devices, systems, and methods of cold brewing coffee and/or tea are disclosed which use pre-manufactured disposable coffee-containing cups. Alternatively, coffee or tea may be placed within a meshed container for cold brew. A single mug device and large volume dispensers are disclosed using the same cold brew technique, which has been shown to produce higher dissolved coffee/tea, resulting in a higher quality beverage.

Abstract: Technologies are described herein for generating a binary transition file. Multiple animation structures may be generated in the binary transition file. The animation structures may define a sequence of three-dimensional meshes. A header portion may also be generated in the binary transition file. The header portion may define slides that are applied to the three-dimensional meshes to produce a transition between the slides. A presentation program application may be modified with the binary transition file, thereby adapting the presentation program application to provide the transition.
