  • Publication number: 20240227084
Abstract: A method for dividing a workpiece into elements includes: a pulsed laser beam of an ultrashort pulse laser is directed onto a workpiece composed of brittle-hard material; instances of filamentary damage are introduced next to one another along a path. The distance between the instances of filamentary damage at least in one portion of the path is selected such that one of the following conditions is met: (i) the difference in terms of magnitude between the characteristic fracture strengths of the element upon bending in opposite directions in this portion is at most 10 MPa; (ii) the difference in terms of magnitude between the characteristic fracture strengths of the element upon bending in opposite directions in this portion is at least 30 MPa; and (iii) the difference in terms of magnitude between the fracture strengths upon bending of the element in opposite directions is at least 30 MPa*d[mm]*?/3.

  • Patent number: 6016193
Abstract: A cuvette holder is provided to allow a flow cell optical analyzer to be adapted for coagulation analysis. The flow cell analyzer has a light source and a photo detector defining a first and a second end of an optical path, a vacuum source for drawing a liquid sample through a flow cell positioned in the optical path so that light from the light source passes through the sample, and means for analyzing data collected at the photo detector. The coagulation analyzer has a light source and a photo detector defining the respective ends of an optical path, a cuvette containing a liquid sample positioned in the optical path for passage of light from the light source through the liquid sample, a means for agitating the liquid sample and a means for analyzing data collected at the photo detector.

  • Patent number: 5253640
Abstract: A process for calibrating a flow sensor in a respiratory system, with final control elements arranged in the respiratory system for influencing the respiration gas stream, is to be improved in terms of the influence of the qualitative gas composition of the respiration gas. To accomplish the task, the final control elements 4, 11 are switched, for calibration, over to a closed respiratory system with directed respiration gas stream. The drive unit 13 feeds the respiration gas present in the respiratory system through the flow sensor 9 according to a predetermined time-volume relationship. A calibration value for the flow sensor 9 is formed by comparison of the time-volume relationship with the measured signal of the flow sensor 9.
