  • Patent number: 8458310
Abstract: A system and method for reducing the amount of data transferred during streaming of an application upgrade. The system includes a server that streams application upgrades to a client. The client determines that an application upgrade is available and receives a first map from the server that corresponds to an upgraded version of the application. The client generates a second map of the currently installed application. The client compares the first map to a second map that corresponds to the application currently installed on the client to determine that one or more data blocks corresponding to the upgraded version of the application are not present in the application currently installed on the client. The client requests the one or more data blocks from the server. Both maps include entries that include data describing a size, a location, and a hash value of a corresponding data block.

  • Patent number: 7547835
Abstract: The instant invention provides a device for mounting, display, and storage of stringed instruments such as guitars. The device is comprised of a body having a generally U-shaped opening for accepting the neck portion of an instrument. The device provides a secure storage mount for a guitar or other similar instrument whereby the instrument can be secured in the device by merely placing the neck portion of the guitar into the U-shaped opening. The neck of the instrument provides a force that is substantially perpendicular with respect to the instrument neck to cause translation of a slider member. Movement of the slider member provides rotation to a pair of fingers to enclose the neck of the instrument with the U-shaped opening. In a more secure embodiment, an instrument can be locked into place using a locking mechanism that provides selective translation of the slider member. The device provides the capability of being mounted to surfaces as well as new or pre-existing free-standing instrument stands.
