  • Patent number: 11471068
Abstract: A system for determining an airway flow value in a patient is provided. The system comprises a computer system that comprises one or more physical processors programmed with computer program instructions which, when executed cause the computer system to obtain, from one or more health monitoring devices, airway pressure information of the patient and airway flow information of the patient; determine an airway flow limitation index from the airway pressure information of the patient and the airway flow information of the patient; and determine the airway flow limitation value for the patient by comparing the determined airway flow limitation index with an airway flow limitation threshold value. The airway flow limitation value indicates a number of breaths of the patient that are flow limited in a given time period.

  • Patent number: 11147938
Abstract: A ventilator that is small, lightweight, and portable, yet capable of being quickly adapted to operate in a plurality of different modes and configurations to deliver a variety of therapies to a patent. A porting system having a plurality of sensors structured to monitor a number of parameters with respect to the flow of gas, and a number of porting blocks is used to reconfigure the ventilator so that it operates as a single-limb or dual limb ventilator. In the single-limb configuration, an active or passive exhaust assembly can be provided proximate to the patient. The ventilator is capable of operate in a volume or pressure support mode, even in a single-limb configuration. In addition, a power control mechanism controls the supply of power to the ventilator from an AC power source, a lead acid battery, an internal rechargeable battery pack, and a detachable battery pack.

Abstract: A neck orthosis, head support system and method of use for supporting a head of a patient having a medical condition are described. The neck orthosis can comprise a body made of a material which is flexible and stretchy and a releasable fastener. The neck orthosis is shaped to cause the neck orthosis snuggly to conform to the anatomy of the patient adjacent the neck of the patient when the neck support is secured in use about the neck of the patient by the releasable fastener to support the head of the patient. A head support system can include a plurality of different support members which can be releasably attached to the neck orthosis to provide different types of support to the head of the patient.

  • Patent number: 10521654
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described for of recognizing handwritten characters in digital images using context-based machine learning. A server captures an image of a document that comprises one or more handwritten data fields, the document associated with a user identifier. The server identifies a field type for each handwritten data field in the image. The server creates a pixel intensity array for each character in each handwritten data field and determines whether a user-specific character map exists for the user identifier. If a map exists, the server retrieves the map and generates digital form data by executing a user-specific handwriting classifier using the map, the pixel intensity arrays, and the field types. If a map does not exist, the server builds a map based upon the pixel intensity arrays and generates digital form data by executing a baseline handwriting classifier using the map, the pixel intensity arrays, and the field types.

  • Patent number: 9717868
Abstract: A pressurized flow of breathable gas is delivered to the airway of a subject in accordance with a therapy regimen. The therapy regimen calls for maintenance of an average tidal volume. The therapy ensures that the subject breaths at a therapeutic breath rate. The breath rate may be determined dynamically based on breathing of the subject early on in a therapy session and/or based on a detected wakefulness of the subject. Inspiration for spontaneous and non-spontaneous breaths may be supported at different levels. The therapy regimen further maintains a beneficial positive end expiratory pressure, to reduce respiratory obstructions and/or for other purposes.
