  • Publication number: 20250222199
Abstract: Methods and systems for monitoring a waste stream in a surgical procedure. The method includes providing an irrigation fluid to a surgical area. The method may also include removing via a suction line the irrigation fluid and medical waste at the surgical area to generate a fluid stream in the suction line. The method may also monitoring the fluid stream based on a lateral flow test to generate a result. The method may also include providing feedback to a user based on the result.

  • Publication number: 20230321416
Abstract: Applicators and a method of coloring antiseptics are provided. More specifically, in one embodiment, an applicator having a flexible hollow body containing antiseptic to be applied is provided. The applicator also has a porous element containing colorant positioned such that the antiseptic flows through the porous element containing colorant. Colorant is transferred to the antiseptic as it flows through the porous element. The resulting colored solution may be applied to the desired surface, wherein it may achieve improved visualization across various tones of surfaces.

  • Publication number: 20220104497
Abstract: An antiseptic polymeric material, wherein an antimicrobial compound is covalently bonded to the material, and the material is used for contacting with a luer lock. The antiseptic polymeric material may help disinfect or prevent any further microbial contamination to the luer lock, wherein the use of a covalently bound antimicrobial compound may also reduce any risk of having the antimicrobial compound entering the intravenous line and being exposed to the patient bloodstream. Preferably, the antiseptic polymeric material may be used in the healthcare industry for disinfection, the suppression of, reduction in and/or maintenance of the microbial load on a surface of the luer lock.
