  • Patent number: 9188294
Abstract: A light emitting diode (LED)-based optically indirect luminaire includes a reflector that receives light generated by an LED light source platform and reflects the light beyond the platform into a space to be illuminated. The LED light source platform can be configured as a pendant that is suspended from the reflector by one or more supports or cables. The LED light source platform can include a heat sink that receives the LEDs and the printed circuit board (PCB) they are disposed upon so that the LEDs are visible to the reflector and hidden from view. An optional lens can be included that covers the LEDs and PCB to protect them from dust and moisture.

  • Publication number: 20150292694
Abstract: A lighting fixture includes a first housing portion and a second housing portion. The first housing portion includes a base and a wall extending outwardly from substantially the perimeter of the base. A top portion of the wall includes one or more hinges extending outwardly therefrom. The second housing portion includes a front panel and a side panel extending outwardly from substantially the perimeter of the front panel. A top portion of the front panel includes at least one slot. The second housing is coupled to the first housing in an open position when the hinge is inserted into the slot and the front panel is disposed elevationally above the base. The second housing is coupled to the first housing in an operational position when the hinge is inserted into the slot and the front panel covers the base.

  • Patent number: 9159521
Abstract: A dual-reflector assembly includes an upper reflector and a lower reflector. The upper reflector includes a proximal end and a distal end. The lower reflector includes a proximal end and a distal end. A light source is positioned between the proximal ends of the upper reflector and the lower reflector. The upper reflector surrounds at least a portion of the lower reflector. The shape and orientation of the dual-reflector assembly can be formed by placing a cup reflector having an upper edge profile and a lower edge profile a predetermined distance away from a rotational axis and at a desired orientation, rotating the cup reflector around the rotational axis, obtaining the shape and orientation of the upper reflector and the lower reflector from the rotating upper edge profile and the rotating lower edge profile, respectively.

  • Patent number: 9121580
Abstract: A closure for a lighting fixture includes a cover having interior and exterior surfaces that defines at least a part of an enclosure of the lighting fixture. In certain aspects, the cover comprises mounts for mounting circuitry to the interior surface of the cover and at least one attachment feature for affixing the cover to a cabinet of the lighting fixture. A light source and driver circuitry are also affixed to the cover. Because the driver circuitry and the light source are both mounted to the same cover of the lighting fixture, the light source may be replaced with an alternate light source having different voltage and current specifications, for example, by replacement of the cover with another cover. In this manner, light sources having different operating characteristics and specifications may be replaced or interchanged with relative ease.

  • Patent number: 9046231
Abstract: A worklight includes a center core comprising an inner cavity, a first panel coupled to the center core, in which the first panel comprises at least one first LED module, and a second panel coupled to the center core opposite the first panel, in which the second panel comprises at least one second LED module. The worklight further includes a hanger comprising a core guide rod and an outer molding. The core guide rod comprises a shaft portion extending within the inner cavity at a distal end and a hook portion bent at an approximately 90° angle to the shaft portion. The hook portion is disposed within the outer molding, and the outer molding comprises a plurality of detents on a bottom surface. The plurality of detents are configured to hang the worklight in a plurality of angles.

  • Patent number: 8915609
Abstract: A light module for use as a portable light or as a light source in a track lighting system is described herein. The light module may include a module housing containing a light emitting aperture, and a light emitting diode (LED) light source located inside the module housing, where the LED light source is aligned with the light emitting aperture. The light module further includes a driver electrically connected to the LED light source, and a chargeable power supply component electrically connected to the driver. The light module also includes at least two magnets attached to the exterior of the module housing, where at least one magnet is associated with a positive electrical terminal and another magnet is associated with a negative terminal, and where at least one magnet provides electrical power to at least one of the chargeable power supply component or driver.
