Abstract: A musical instrument, which comprises chord triggers and outputs a chord, wherein various chords like C-diminished, F-minor, D-major we provided for example, with means which differently highlight certain chord triggers to help the user while playing. Those chord triggers are highlighted, whose triggerable chord is in a certain relationship with a note repertoire which is previously set. This note repertoire, for example, could be a note scale like F-major or G-sharp-Spanish. If the chord of a chord trigger and a previously set note repertoire do match on enough common pitch classes or if the chord of a chord trigger doesn't have too much pitch classes which don't match the pitch classes of the common note repertoire, that chord trigger gets highlighted, to show the relationship to the user.
