  • Publication number: 20190107994
Abstract: In at least one embodiment, an apparatus for providing a tactile output associated with an audio output is provided. The apparatus includes an audio controller that is coupled to a plurality of tactile transducers with each tactile transducer being positioned in a seat of a vehicle. The audio controller is configured to receive a command indicative of a desired tactile feedback for a seat of the vehicle, the desired tactile feedback is associated with an audio output that is played back by one or more speakers in the vehicle. The audio controller is further configured to transmit a control signal indicative of the desired tactile feedback to be provided by a tactile transducer in the seat of the vehicle such that the tactile transducer generates the desired tactile feedback at the seat while the one or more speakers in the vehicle playback the audio output.

  • Patent number: 9866951
Abstract: Embodiments herein describe an audio system that adjusts based on the location of a person. That is, instead of relying on fixed speakers, the audio system adjusts the direction of audio output for one or more speakers to optimize the performance of the audio system based on the location of a user or based on the number of users. To do so, the audio system may include a camera and a tracking application which identifies the location of a user and/or the number of users in front of the camera. Using this information, the audio system adjusts one or more actuators coupled to a speaker to change the direction of the audio output of the speaker. As the user continues to move or shift, the audio system can continually adjust the speaker to optimize the performance of the system.

  • Patent number: 9813813
Abstract: Embodiments are provided for customizing an audio system of a vehicle. An example computing device for customization of an audio system of a vehicle includes a display configured to present a user interface, a processor, and a storage device storing instructions executable by the processor to generate the user interface for presentation via the display, and receive user input to the user interface requesting one or more adjustments to an audio system, the one or more adjustments including instructions to tune an amplifier of the vehicle by adjusting digital signal processing (DSP) settings of the amplifier. The instructions are further executable to transmit the one or more requested adjustments to a communication interface of the amplifier of the vehicle, the adjusted DSP settings being stored in the amplifier and retrievable by the computing device.
