  • Patent number: 8622206
Abstract: Improved peel-to-open packages including sachets, pouches, and the like are disclosed. The packages are made of substrate layers removably adhered together using an adhesive pattern of seal(s) that are characterized by peel forces. The adhesive pattern is designed to provide for controlled opening of the packages, in some embodiments to a predetermined stopping point, such that any product(s) contained therein are presented to the consumer for removal. Further design features include, but are not limited to, offset tabs, textures, color variations and text, which may further provide for easy, intuitive opening.

  • Patent number: 8495784
Abstract: A device for treating a target surface, such as occurs when cleaning a window. The device has a squeegee blade or other member to apply pressure to the target surface. A sheet movably covers the blade, to present a fresh covering to the target surface with each use. The fresh surface provides for improved removal of the liquid from, or improved treatment of the liquid on, the target surface. Additionally a sheet may comprise a prewetted substrate to apply the liquid to the target surface. One or both of the sheets may be disposed in a cartridge insertable to and removable from the device.

  • Publication number: 20080257909
Abstract: A one piece dispensing component that includes a flip cap and a body, wherein the flip cap is connected to the body with a hinge. The body includes a shoulder permanently connecting the body to a container and a nozzle connected to the shoulder. A one piece dispensing component comprising a body, a flip cap, and a hinge. The body including a nozzle and a shoulder connected to a product container, wherein a longitudinal axis of the nozzle is offset from a longitudinal axis of the body. A process of manufacturing a one piece dispensing package that includes the steps of producing a one piece dispensing component, producing non-injection-molded tube having an open end and a closed end opposite the open end, and permanently connecting the one piece dispensing component to the open end of the tube. • Patent number: 7279187
Abstract: A mineral-fortification system that has a bottle cap, a pouch and a pouch opener. A powder is contained within the pouch, and the powder contains at least one mineral and a redox modulating compound. When the cap is secured onto the opening of a bottle containing a liquid and when the pouch opener is activated, the powder is released from the pouch and mixes with the liquid to form a mineral fortified liquid composition that is fortified with at least one mineral and has a pH between about 2.5 and 9.5. Moreover, the mineral fortified liquid composition has a redox potential that satisfies the following equation: 0?RP?(A?B*pH). In this equation RP is the redox potential in millivolts of the mineral-containing liquid composition, pH is the pH of the mineral-containing liquid composition, A is 400 and B is 20. The mineral is preferably selected from calcium, iron, zinc, copper, manganese, iodine, magnesium, and mixtures of these.

  • Patent number: 7188787
Abstract: A sprayer with a water purifier, a valve system, and a selector switch for the same are disclosed. In one non-limiting embodiment, when the sprayer is in use, the sprayer includes a purifier for purifying water. The sprayer may be compact and ergonomic. The sprayer may include a valve system that provides a selection of water flow paths and/or nozzles or other output mechanisms for the sprayer, and a selector switch for controlling the valve system. In certain embodiments, the sprayer is provided with a multiple position selector switch that can be controlled by one of the operator's fingers, or by the operator's thumb so that the operator can use the sprayer and select the sprayer setting with one hand.

  • Patent number: 7157078
Abstract: This invention relates to devices, kits, and methods for eliminating termite colonies. The kits, devices, and methods employ a termiticidal bait matrix containing a) a termiticide selected such that the termiticide causes death to about 50 to about 100% of termites within about 24 to about 84 days after the termites begin to ingest the termiticide or the bait matrix comprising the termiticide, b) a cellulose containing material, and c) water. The termiticidal bait matrix can be used in a bait station installed in the ground. The kits are suitable to be used by consumers in their homes.

  • Patent number: 6675845
Abstract: A method and package for controlled metered dispensing of a fluid product contained in the package having a metered dispensing system, each time the package is opened or uncapped are disclosed. By the present method and package, the maximum amount of product that can be dispensed is limited to a single metered dose after each uncapping of the package. Specifically, the metered dispensing system is configured to allow dispensing of only a single metered dose of a liquid, viscous liquid, gel, paste, or semi-solid product contained in the package and to prevent further dispensing of additional doses of product until at least one specific and deliberate step is taken that re-activates or re-engages the dispensing system. Such deliberate step is preferably one that occurs through natural use of the package, such as re-capping the open package after one single dose has been dispensed. Only after the open package has been re-capped can the next dose of product be available for dispensing.
