Abstract: Technologies for homing a motor of a surgical stapler system includes a control system configured to determine a targe drive voltage for the motor that is configured to set a speed of the motor to zero at a reference torque threshold. The reference torque threshold is indicative of contact between a rotation limiter operatively coupled to the motor and a rotation hardstop. The control system further controls the motor to rotate in a first direction until the motor stalls, which is indicative of contact between rotation limiter and the rotation hardstop. The control system further determines a present position of the motor in response to the stalling of the motor and sets the present position of the motor as a maximum motor position for the first direction.
