  • Patent number: 9883791
Abstract: A sheath for an endotracheal intubation device includes an elongate flexible portion defining a closed conduit and an adjacent open channel defined by opposing lips for releasably retaining an endotracheal tube, and a rigid portion extending from a distal end of the flexible portion, the flexible portion including a gap in one of the lips adjacent the rigid portion to expose an edge of the rigid portion, the gap allowing the endotracheal tube to be pinched between the edge of the rigid portion and a lip of the flexible portion to enhance retention of the tube when an articulated arm disposed in the closed conduit is curved, and facilitate release of the tube when the arm is not curved.

  • Publication number: 20170164794
Abstract: A secondary dispenser readily attachable to a standard toilet-tissue dispenser of a roll type for positioning next to the primary toilet-tissue dispenser for dispensing supplemental materials such as pre-wetted toilet sheets. The sheets can be withdrawn from an open door. A compact auxiliary device providing wetted or self-wetting sheets for releasable proximate mounting in conjunction with a conventional toilet-tissue dispenser of dry sheets; comprises an inexpensive container or magazine component pre-loaded with the supplemental sheets. The magazine can be snapped into functional position rapidly. It serves an improved health care and cleanliness function.

  • Patent number: 9349196
Abstract: A first set of discrete cosine transform (DCT) blocks is obtained. Each DCT block from the first set of DCT blocks has a first block size. When performing a split operation on the first set of DCT blocks, a filter is applied to the first set of DCT blocks. A second set of data blocks is generated based on the first set of DC blocks using a transform function. Each block in the second set of data blocks has a second block size. When performing a merge operation, the filter is applied to the second set of data blocks.

  • Patent number: 8341653
Abstract: Embodiments provide methods and systems for handling optical discs in a media library appliance and for replacing optical drives in the field. In one embodiment, the media library appliance comprises optical disc handling robotics developed for slim form factor slot load drives in a vertical orientation located on both sides of the robotics within a 19 inch rackable appliance. On the system level, the optical disc storage system provides modularity and scalability. The drives reside in field replaceable units (“FRUs”) that are oriented vertically on a horizontal backplane. The disc handling robotics access discs on each side stored in horizontal stacks within large disc cartridges. A small disc shuttle cartridge attaches to a large disc cartridge to provide a means to import and export a smaller number of discs from the disc cartridge.
