    Abstract: A rugged integrated helmet vision system includes an accessory connector for connecting an accessory such as a heads-up display (HUD) device to a helmet worn by a user. The accessory connector includes a connector arm assembly with a portion that attaches the connector to the helmet, and another portion that attaches the accessory to the connector. The portions each provide multiple degrees of freedom of movement to allow adjustment of the connector with respect to the helmet, and adjustment of the accessory with respect to an eye of the user. The connector also provides the ability to lock positions of and the degrees of freedom of movement of the connector arm assembly via a single locking actuator with one-handed operation. In embodiments, a control box computer system at the helmet communicates with various soldier-portable networks to send and receive information for display by a HUD device accessory.

An example apparatus includes processor circuitry to at least one of instantiate or execute machine readable instructions to: determine if a temperature of a heat pipe of an electronic device is below a first threshold temperature; cause a program to switch from a first operating mode to a second operating mode when the temperature is below the first threshold temperature, the second operating mode to use more processor circuitry bandwidth than the first operating mode; determine at least one of (1) an occurrence of an increase in a power level of the electronic device or (2) the temperature of the heat pipe satisfies a second threshold temperature; and cause the program to switch from the second operating mode to the first operating mode based on at least one of (1) the occurrence of the increase in the power level or (2) the temperature of the heat pipe satisfying the second threshold temperature.

The method further comprises providing the digital vehicle key to a mobile device associated with the user identifier. The method further comprises retrieving vehicle usage data associated with the vehicle identifier. The method further comprises adding a transaction into a queue for a digital account associated with the user identifier, wherein the transaction includes a value based on the vehicle usage data. Other methods are also provided for home charging tracking and for disabling operation of a vehicle via a digital vehicle key when detecting unsafe conditions or a past due account.

    Abstract: A method includes the steps of providing an engine with a compressor. A tap taps air from the compressor and passes it through a bleed valve, and a precooler, and downstream of the precooler to a use on an associated aircraft. Fan cooling air passes through a fan air valve across the precooler to cool the tapped air before it passes to the use and then into a core engine downstream of the precooler to cool internal components. If shutdown of the engine is coming, the method runs the engine for a period of time, closes the bleed valve and opens the fan air valve to allow fan cooling air to continue passing through the precooler, and into the engine to cool the components. A combination and an aircraft are also disclosed.
