  • Publication number: 20050133388
Abstract: A blank for forming a carton, the carton formed therefrom, and a closure for the carton are provided for enclosing a plurality of unbound elongate smoking articles. The blank includes a base sub-blank at the distal end which is folded to form an open top box and a lid sub-blank at the proximal end which is folded to form a top for the box. A movable lid sub-panel is formed in the lid sub-blank which is hingedly removable therefrom to open the top of the box and which is reclosable by use of a foldable member provided therein. After opening of the movable lid sub-panel, the foldable member is folded over to form an extending tab which is received in a weakening line provided in an underlying front panel of the carton when it is desired to hold the movable lid sub-panel in a closed position.

  • Publication number: 20040226699
Abstract: A composition for reducing atmospheric oxidizing pollutants comprising a reducing agent comprising: at least one transition element and/or one or more compounds including at least one transition element wherein the standard electrode potential of the redox reaction including the transition element and an ionic species of the transition element or between the ionic species of the transition element present in the or each compound and a further ionic species of the transition element is less than +1.0 volt; a precious metal-free trap material capable of trapping at least one atmospheric reducing pollutant, whereby the at least one atmospheric oxidizing pollutant is reduced by a combination of the trap material and at least one trapped atmospheric reducing pollutant, which at least one trapped atmospheric reducing pollutant is consequently oxidized; or a manganese-based catalyst, preferably MnO2 or a derivative thereof including cryptomelane, and a water soluble binder.

  • Publication number: 20040044543
Abstract: A process for producing a landscape plan for a property uses a set of predefined unique symbols, each corresponding to a generic landscape element. The landscape plan uses the symbols to indicate the locations on the property where various generic landscape elements are to located. Landscape elements include not only plants, but hardscape elements such as retaining walls, sidewalks, driveways, patios, pools, ponds, etc. Generic plant categories are also defined according to plant size and leaf texture. Symbols are assigned for hardscape elements according to a type of material to be used. A customer communicates information regarding the property to a landscape architect, preferably via the Internet. The information includes a survey of the property, a photograph of the property, and a list of desired landscape characteristics for the property.

  • Patent number: 6662565
Abstract: A duplex fuel injector has concentric arrangement of an inner air swirler, an inner fuel injection port, an intermediate axial air filmer, a second air swirler, an outer fuel injection port and an outer air swirler. The intermediate air filmer produces a curtain of air separating an outer air and fuel spray from an inner air and fuel spray. The outer spray is used in a pilot combustion zone whereas the inner spray is used in a main combustion zone.

  • Publication number: 20030184323
Abstract: The method detects the presence of an effective corrosion inhibitor in a central heating system liquid. A clean steel electrode and a non-steel electrode are immersed in the system liquid. The galvanic current flowing between the electrodes is measured after a delay, and the measured current is compared with a reference. A portable apparatus for carrying out the method comprises a sample container (10) and a measurement instrument (12) which includes a steel electrode (14), a non-steel electrode (16), circuitry (19) for detecting galvanic current flowing between the electrodes when immersed in a test liquid in the container, and generating a measurement signal indicative of the measured galvanic current. The method and apparatus provide a quick effective method of checking correct inhibitor function.

  • Publication number: 20020119485
Abstract: A method of performing an energy transfer luminescence assay to determine an analyte in which a donor species is irradiated to raise the donor species to an excited state, and the analyte causes a change in the excitation condition of at least one of the donor species and an acceptor species and said change is monitored to determine the analyte. The donor species is provided as, in or adsorbed to a solid phase and is an up-conversion medium capable of effecting, by energy pooling or otherwise, an energy transition to an excited state by absorption of electromagnetic radiation having an energy less than that of said transition. The acceptor species is bound or is capable of being bound directly or indirectly to the surface of said solid phase.
