Abstract: A weapon stowage and mounting system for a military vehicle, wherein the weapon stowage and mounting system secures a weapon such as an M16 or M249 emplaced therein and retains such weapon from flying about as a secondary projectile in the event of a vehicle roll over, vehicle collision or vehicle blast event, The weapon stowage and mounting system allows for stowage of a weapon with loaded ammunition magazines, grenade launchers, forward hand grips, and/or rails and scopes still attached to the weapon, thus allowing maintenance of constant mission readiness. The weapon stowage and mounting system also includes a panel of UMWPE material that is positioned in line with the muzzle of a stowed weapon to fully capture a bullet in the event of an accidental discharge of the weapon.

Abstract: A ground surface reconnaissance projectile includes a tube-launched 60 mm inert mortar round, which remotely relays reconnaissance and surveillance data back to an operator, after it has landed and uprighted itself. The types of collected data include for example, visual imagery of the target area in 360 degrees, acoustic target tracking and voice recognition, infra-red motion detection, and magnetic field disturbance sensing.

Abstract: A bearing assembly for a first part that rotates with respect to a second part may include a slewing bearing having an axis of rotation and inner and outer races concentric with the axis of rotation. The inner race may be fixed to the first part and the outer race may be fixed to the second part. An inner, annular catch ring may be fixed to and adjacent to a lower surface of the inner race. An outer, annular catch ring may be fixed to and interposed between a lower surface of the outer race and the second part. A portion of the outer catch ring may be disposed below and adjacent to the lower surface of the inner race.
