  • Publication number: 20250040921
Abstract: A suture assembly comprises a suture anchor, a repair suture, and a shuttle suture. Each suture has a looped end and a tail end. The tail end of the repair suture and the looped end of the shuttle suture extend out one side of the proximal end of the anchor, while the looped end of the repair suture and the tail end of the shuttle suture extend out the opposite side of the anchor. The tail of the repair suture may have a proximal portion which is thicker than its end portion. The suture anchor may include a proximal bore receiving the repair suture and a distal bore receiving the shuttle suture. The distal bore may have a rear opening having a diameter approximately equal to the diameter of the proximal portion of the suture and a front opening that is larger than the rear opening.

  • Publication number: 20240407776
Abstract: Methods of repairing tissue include obtaining a suture including a first end defining an opening and a second end capable of passing through the opening; passing the first end through the tissue at a first location; passing the second end through the tissue at a second location; forming a luggage tag configuration by passing the second end through the first end; and securing the luggage tag configuration against the tissue. In some examples, the suture is a continuous closed loop, and in others the suture has a barbell configuration, with a linear central portion and a loop at each end. In still examples, the suture has a loop at one end and a tail at the other. The suture may be used without an anchor or may be part of a suture assembly including a suture anchor and, optionally, at least one other suture.

  • Patent number: 12064103
Abstract: A suture anchor for use in a knotless, suture-first technique for securing soft tissue to bone comprises a proximal anchor body and a distal tip having an eyelet configured to receive an end of a repair suture. Internal locking elements on the distal tip and the proximal anchor body are provided for locking the tip and anchor body together when the suture anchor is implanted in a bone. A suture assembly for use in an alternate knotless technique comprises a suture anchor, a repair suture, and a shuttle suture. Both the repair suture and the shuttle suture rea looped at one end and straight at the other end. In the alternate technique, the loop and tail of the repair suture are manipulated to form a luggage tag configuration extending around the tissue, and the shuttle suture is used to tightly secure the luggage tag configuration and tissue against the bone.

  • Publication number: 20240260957
Abstract: A lateral suture anchor has a proximal anchor body with an open proximal end and a distal tip. The distal tip has an eyelet configured to receive an end of a repair suture and a suture engagement feature extending proximally from the distal tip. At least one preloaded stay suture extends proximally from the suture engagement feature and out through the open proximal end of the proximal anchor body. The stay suture includes a looped end, a straight end, and an intermediate portion. and is doubled over itself so that the intermediate portion extends through the suture engagement feature, and the looped and straight ends extend proximally through the open proximal end of the proximal anchor body. Internal locking elements are provided for licking the distal tip to the anchor body.

  • Patent number: 12016549
Abstract: A repair suture consists of a strand of suture material formed into a continuous loop. One end of the loop may be thicker than the other. The repair suture may be part of a suture assembly including the repair suture, a linking suture having a looped end and a straight end, and a suture anchor. The suture anchor may have a suture bridge that divides the cross-sectional area of the interior of the anchor into two unequal sections. The suture assembly may be used to create luggage tag configurations for repairing tissue or for attaching tissue to bone. In a double-row method with medial row compression, loose suture ends from the medial row are inserted into a lateral row anchor having a proximal anchor body, a distal tip, and internal locking elements for locking the distal tip to the proximal anchor body.

  • Publication number: 20240197313
Abstract: A suture assembly comprises a suture anchor, a repair suture, and a shuttle suture. Each suture has a looped end and a tail end. The tail end of the repair suture and the looped end of the shuttle suture extend out one side of the proximal end of the anchor, while the looped end of the repair suture and the tail end of the shuttle suture extend out the opposite side of the anchor. A method of repairing tissue includes implanting the suture anchor into a bone below and to one side of the tissue; passing the tail of the repair suture between a detached tissue and a bone, and then back over the detached tissue and through the loop of the repair suture to create a luggage tag construct before locking the tail of the repair suture against a portion of the suture anchor.

  • Patent number: 11801077
Abstract: A bone fixation system includes an intramedullary nail and a lag screw. A proximal portion of the intramedullary nail includes a first proximal bore configured to accept the lag screw and a second proximal bore configured to accept a portion of an antirotation screw insertion tool. A distal portion of the intramedullary nail defines at least one opening configured to accept a distal locking screw. The lag screw includes a sheath and a rod mounted for sliding movement within the sheath. The rod has a threaded distal end defining a diagonal bore configured to accept an antirotation screw.
