  • Publication number: 20230300054
Abstract: A method and apparatus forms clusters of co-located devices by correlating measurable quantities that are observed by the devices. Devices, both fixed and mobile, may be clustered according to spatially defined locations by receiving a plurality of observations of measurable metrics from the devices; scoring the plurality of observations to define a cluster state at each of the spatially defined locations, wherein the cluster state comprises a plurality of measurable quantities; assigning the devices to a cluster of a plurality of clusters; after assigning the devices to the cluster, receiving additional observations of measurable metrics from the devices; and autonomously updating the cluster states in based on the additional observations.

  • Patent number: 11489891
Abstract: A system and method for receiving video from multiple sources, compositing those sources and then republishing the composited video as a source to a virtual camera driver endpoint. In one embodiment, the present method comprises displaying multiple media streams, represented by worksurface image on a shared display. The shared display worksurface image is then re-encoded, and the re-encoded composite image is transmitted to a client computer, where the re-encoded image is transcoded to simulate a device connected to the client computer. The transcoded media stream is then transmitted to a teleconferencing system.

  • Patent number: 11012665
Abstract: A bridging video conference room system and method provides for using a client device to leverage the conference room infrastructure to hold a video conference with remote users. A user may indicate an intent to host a video conference to a room-host device, which may then detect and parse a calendar invitation to cause the video conference software to launch on the user's client device as a host of the meeting. Other client devices may share content to the video conference by sharing to the bridging video conference room system without joining the video conference separately.

  • Patent number: 10983608
Abstract: Systems and methods use a mobile device to position an annotation of displayed content on a shared display coupled with a host device. Sensor data, such as gyroscope and accelerometer data, from the mobile device may be transmitted to the host device and used to generate the annotation. The sensor data may be preprocessed to smooth and fit the data to a parametric curve or shape prior to or after display on the shared display. The user of the mobile device may interact with the mobile device to further start and stop the annotation, as well as denote to animate the annotation.

  • Publication number: 20210105419
Abstract: A two-tier display infrastructure switching architecture and associated method interconnects a plurality of network-enabled display devices. A video streaming switch is capable of receiving a video stream from a first network-enabled display device and forwarding the video stream to a second network-enabled display device. • Patent number: 10404763
Abstract: A method for providing control and visualization of media. A first media stream having an initial resolution is received from a source computer; the first media stream is rescaled to generate a second media stream with a second resolution; the second media source stream is transmitted to a destination computer; after receiving instructions from the destination computer indicating a selection of the second media stream, the stream is rescaled in accordance with the received rescaling information, to generate a third media stream with a third resolution, which is transmitted to the destination computer.

  • Patent number: 10320865
Abstract: A method for graphically indicating presence, identity, and action with respect to a media post transmitted by a client device and displayed on a shared display. Metadata indicating the identity of a user is logically associated with visual media to form a media stream, which is transmitted to the shared display. The transmitted media stream is then decoded to recover the transmitted metadata. The media post is displayed on the shared display and the presence of a client device media stream, the identity of the current user of the device generating the stream, and an action associated with the user interaction with the client device, is then graphically indicated on the display, using the recovered metadata.

  • Patent number: 9800906
Abstract: A method for creating a list of display devices that are available to receive a video signal from an image generator via network video streaming. One version of the method includes transmitting a display availability packet indicating one or more of the display devices that are available for connection, updating a network display listing module with the information stored in the display availability packet, and transmitting an availability request packet requesting a list of the display devices that are available to receive the video signal. In response to receiving an availability request packet, a display resource list, indicating the display devices available to receive the video signal, is generated from the metadata contained in the availability request packet.

  • Patent number: 9628530
Abstract: A media file exchange system that supports group collaboration sessions in which media files are being shared with one or more participants. The system augments real-time media collaboration where one or more users have shared media to a group collaboration session. The system allows participants in the collaboration group to indicate their desire to share a media file to one, a few, or an entire group. The media file to be shared and a specific one of the receiving user devices are selected on a participants device other than the device owning the media. The system automatically moderates the exchange of the information between the participants.

  • Patent number: 9437160
Abstract: A system for automatic color matching of multiple displays in a multi-display system. A sensor observes the output energy of each of the displays in a multi-display system and measures the difference in the color responses for a given input color. This difference is used to derive a modification function that is applied to each display. The displays are modified accordingly, and then the color is displayed again. This process is repeated until the measured values from each of the displays are within a minimum measurement error tolerance, so that the differences in displayed colors observed among the displays are minimized.
