  • Publication number: 20170071235
Abstract: The present document is directed to detoxification of trichothecenes using a method involving trichothecene epoxide ring opening. In particular, the present document discloses the detoxification of a trichothecene by reaction with a thiol containing compound under conditions where the pH is equal to or higher than one pH unit less than the pKa of a thiol group of the thiol containing compound.

  • Patent number: 9161250
Abstract: Satellite scanning is an example of scanning a transmission spectrum, which relates to identifying satellite channels within a satellite broadcast spectrum. Rather than scanning the entire transmission spectrum at each possible combination of frequency and symbol rate, spectrum analysis may be performed over the transmission spectrum in order to determine an estimate of signal strength over the transmission spectrum in the frequency domain. The estimate of signal strength in the frequency domain can be used to identify candidate transmission channels (e.g. at frequencies where the signal strength is high). A targeted scan of the transmission spectrum can then be performed based on the identified candidate transmission in order to identify the transmission channels.

  • Patent number: 9110049
Abstract: A use composition monitor determines the concentration of peracid and/or peroxide in a use composition using a kinetic assay procedure. A sample mixture containing a sample of the use composition, a diluent and at least one reagent is prepared and analyzed using, for example, an optical detector. A reduced-turbulence optical detector can be used to improve collected response data. A reduced-turbulence optical detector can include a cell body disposed about a length of transparent tubing. The cell body positions one or more emitter/receiver pairs about the transparent tubing. Thus, tube junctions are eliminated and sample flow within the tube is substantially turbulence free.

  • Publication number: 20150067440
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for decoding LDPC codes are described. An LDPC code may be represented as a Tanner graph comprising bit nodes and check nodes and connections between them. In an embodiment, a configurable LDPC decoder, which supports many different LDPC codes having any sub-matrix size, comprises several independently addressable memories which are used to store soft decision data for each bit node. The decoder further comprises a number, P, of check node processing systems which generate updated soft decision data. The updated values are then passed back to the memories via a shuffling system. If the number of check nodes processed in parallel by the check node processing systems is PCNB (where P?PCNB) and the soft decision data for a bit node is of word size q bits, the total width of the independently addressable memories is larger than PCNB*q bits.

  • Patent number: 8730701
Abstract: An H-bridge control circuit comprises an input stage, comparator stage, inverter stage. The operation of the H-bridge can be controlled by a single analog input signal provided by a feedback stage. Shoot-through protection is provided for the H-bridge circuit through the inclusion of a dead gap determined by inputs to the comparator stage. The dead gap can be adjusted, allowing for adjustment of the precision operation of the load. The H-bridge can be used to drive a bi-directional load such as, for example, a Peltier conditioner.

  • Patent number: 8727102
Abstract: At least one single link of a conveyor chain is configured to support a tension load cell. A main body portion of the link includes a central cavity sized to contain the load cell, which has been inserted therein through an opening of the main body portion, and at least one auxiliary cavity to contain at least one battery cell and circuitry. A cap portion of the link closes off the opening into the cavity to enclose the load cell therein. One or both of the main body and cap portions may include a bore to receive a fastener for attaching to an end of the inserted load cell, and both portions include a bore oriented to receive a pin of a mating dual link of the conveyor chain. The cap portion may also include anti-rotation surfaces to mate with one or both of: the load cell and the opening.

  • Patent number: 8431412
Abstract: A microflow analytical system includes a laminate pump assembly connectable with one or more sources of fluid, one or more pneumatic control pumps, a mixer, and a sensor. The laminate pump assembly is adapted to deliver predetermined volumes of the fluid(s) through a plurality of flow paths which are formed within layers of the assembly. Each flow path can include an inlet valve, a pump valve, and an outlet valve each of which are controllable by the pneumatic control pumps. A series of manifolds can be formed within the layers of the pump assembly to provide for simultaneous activation of selected flow paths. Delivered fluid volumes can be mixed in the mixer which, in some embodiments, may be integral with the laminate pump assembly. The sensor can measure one or more characteristics of the mixed fluids to determine one or more properties of the fluids.
