  • Publication number: 20240158032
Abstract: A bicycle comprises front and rear wheels, a frame, a seat post, and a damping member. An upper portion of the seat post is movable relative to the frame between a first position and a second position. The damping member couples the seat post to the frame to dampen movement of the upper portion of the seat post. The damping member can be positioned at least partially in a top tube of the frame. Preferably, the seat post flexes when the upper portion of the seat post moves. The frame further includes a securing location for securing the seat post, and the securing location is a distance from the upper end of the seat tube that is at least 30% of a length of a seat tube. The seat post has a front-to-rear width, and the seat tube has a rear wall spaced from the seat post by a gap that is at least 25% of a front-to-rear width of the seat post.

  • Patent number: 11787496
Abstract: A bicycle includes a frame, a suspension assembly and a steering assembly. The frame includes a head tube that rotatably receives a front fork assembly. A steerer tube extends axially away from a fork crown of the front fork assembly. The suspension assembly includes an upper tubular support longitudinally slidable relative to a lower tubular support. The upper and lower supports receive a first positive biasing means and a first negative biasing means. The lower and upper supports are respectively connected to the steerer tube and a stem of the steering assembly such that the upper support slides longitudinally relative to the lower support adjacent the stem and above the fork crown.

  • Patent number: 10737740
Abstract: A bicycle according to the present disclosure comprises a frame assembly and a front fork. The frame assembly includes a head tube defining a steering axis. The front fork is rotatably coupled to the head tube and includes upper and lower supports aligned with the steering axis. The upper and lower supports project away from the fork assembly and rotationally couple the front fork assembly to the head tube. A buttress is coupled to the upper and lower supports at upper and lower buttress ends. A pair of laterally spaced fork legs project from the buttress lower end at one end of the fork legs. The buttress is disposed forward of the head tube and has a lateral width which tapers from a first width at the buttress lower end to a second width at the buttress upper end.

  • Patent number: 10689048
Abstract: A bicycle comprises a main frame and a suspension assembly coupled to the main frame. The suspension assembly includes a dynamic crank support and a spring mechanism. The dynamic crank support is movable from an uncompressed position to a compressed position. The spring mechanism biases the dynamic crank support toward the uncompressed position. The suspension assembly further comprises a dynamic seat support coupled for movement with the dynamic crank support. For example, the dynamic seat support and the dynamic crank support can be rigidly coupled to each other and cooperatively form one bar of a four-bar linkage. An eccentric assembly is supported by the main frame and rotates about a first axis. The eccentric assembly pivotally supports the dynamic crank support for rotation about a second axis offset from the first axis. The spring mechanism preferably comprises a spring secured between the main frame and the eccentric assembly to rotationally bias the eccentric assembly.
