    Abstract: A system for effectively implementing an electronic network includes a main personal computer that is coupled to the electronic network. A personal assistant program on the main personal computer supports a personal assistant mode for the main personal computer and one or more other local network devices. A user interface is generated by the personal assistant for allowing one or more users to interactively communicate with the personal assistant through either the main personal computer or the local network devices. A processor device on the main personal computer is configured to control the personal assistant.
