  • Publication number: 20240148398
Abstract: A jaw closure transmission system is presented that includes an input sub-system, output sub-system and a transmission sub-system. These transmission sub-systems may utilize the transmission member as an energy storing device over a certain portion of an input stroke, to achieve a specific desired performance of the surgical tool. These apparatuses and methods may be particularly useful with hand-held, minimally invasive surgical tools having jaws.

  • Publication number: 20240120716
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices providing for the robotic installation of vehicle electrical systems are described. A vehicle wiring harness includes first and second cables, a robotic gripping arm, and at least two pairs of stiffeners coupled to the cables to define folding points and corresponding segments that enable robotic folding and unfolding of the wiring harness. In other examples, a wiring harness is coupled to a plurality of electrical connectors carried by a carrier plate of an electrical control unit connection system (ECU), which is installed by robotically mating the plurality of electrical connectors carried by the carrier plate.

  • Patent number: 11950966
Abstract: Surgical tools and assemblies are employed for use in minimally invasive surgical (MIS) procedures. A surgical tool assembly includes a handle assembly and a frame assembly. The handle assembly and frame assembly are designed and constructed to have an articulation input joint and a grounding joint between them. A pitch rotational degree of freedom and a yaw rotational degree of freedom are provided by way of the articulation input joint. The handle assembly is translationally constrained relative to the frame assembly by way of the grounding joint. Intermediate bodies and joints can be provided in certain surgical tool assemblies and architectures.

  • Patent number: 6289240
Abstract: Positive or negative biofeedback is provided by an apparatus using jets of fluid, such as a compressed gas, directed at a targeted area of a body to produce a positive or negative tactile sensation. A stimulus unit is connected to a fluid supply and is positioned on the body, such as the abdomen or back. A sensor unit connected to the stimulus unit is activated, such as by relaxed muscle position or other behavior, which then activates the stimulus unit to open release valves and deliver bursts of small jets of gas to the body. The sensor unit may be remote from the stimulus unit, whereby signals are sent remotely through a control unit to the stimulus unit to activate the release valves.

  • Patent number: 6144550
Abstract: An inflatable and collapsible display screen for electronic devices such as portable computers, TV screens, LCD and the like, which provides a screen area of approximately the size of conventional and comparable portable computer monitor screens, and the like. Upon deflation, the display screen may be folded into a small package for storage and/or transport.
