Abstract: Cosmetic compositions, and methods of use, where the cosmetic compositions are multi-purpose oil-in-water emulsions that contain (i) a surfactant system of high HLB surfactants and (ii) a high load of talc. The emulsions are capable of being used as a base for eye cosmetics, in order to enhance wear of eyeshadow and removal of mascara.

Abstract: A cosmetic kit is disclosed having a container and a shaving cap. The container comprises interior chamber containing a solidified gel of a micellar solution and a dispensing opening that exposes an outer surface of the solidified gel. The exposed surface of the solidified gel to a surface, like skin, and can be cleaned with the shaving cap, which removes at least a portion of the exposed surface of the solidified gel. The shaving cap comprises a planer surface and one or more openings or slits through the planar surface having shaving edges that shave the exposed surface of the solidified gel when applied against the exposed surface, for example, by rotating the shaving cap relative to the container with sufficient force to overcome shearing resistance of the solidified gel. The cosmetic kit is particularly useful for hygienically cleansing the skin.

Abstract: A cleansing composition is for cleansing skin in a rinse-off formulation provides a stable disposition of an acne treatment active, for example, beta hydroxy acid, on the skin that is resistant to removal by rinsing with or without use of a cleansing apparatus. The cleansing composition includes at least one beta hydroxy acid, for example, salicylic acid or a derivative thereof, which is present in an amount that is greater than 1%, by weight, based on the weight of the cleansing composition, and an aqueous carrier that includes lauryl lactate for thickening and stabilization, at least one surfactant, at least one cationic agent, and optional additives. The cleansing composition has a pleasing high foam, is free of drying and irritating sulfates and PEG-type components, demonstrates phase stability up to at least three months at temperatures up to 45° C., and demonstrates retention of beta hydroxy acid active on the skin after cleansing and rinsing.

Abstract: A method and system or kit is provided, where makeup containing an alkane and a styrenic block copolymer can be easily removed if a separate makeup-removing composition that includes an alkane and a low viscosity dimethicone (having a viscosity of 60,000 cst or less) is applied. The dimethicone in this viscosity range causes the styrenic block copolymer to gel. After allowing a short period of time for the gelling to occur, the gelled copolymer and the remainder of the makeup can then be readily removed.
