  • Patent number: 9260903
Abstract: Measuring a D.C. motor's armature voltage and current and measuring its rotation speed using a Hall-effect sensor enable a particular motor's characteristic equation to be determined empirically. After the equation that models a motor is determined, rotation speed can be determined between Hall-effect sensor signals using real-time measurements of armature voltage and current, which are substituted back into the equation. Current and/or voltage can also be adjusted to increase, decrease or maintain rotation speed.
