  • Publication number: 20250122104
Abstract: A system for use introducing materials, such as powdered flocculants, can be used with a sedimentation tank. The system includes a bypass circuit for directing water from an inlet of the sedimentation tank to a dosing tank, where the material is added. A pump redirects water from the dosing tank back into the inlet of the sedimentation tank. A metering unit an controller can be used to control the amount of material dispensed into the dosing tank. A series of valves, float switches, and flow meters can be used to control the flowrate and operation of the system.

  • Patent number: 10261875
Abstract: Aspects include computing devices, systems, and methods for managing a first computing device component of a computing device in order to extend an operating life of the computing device component. In an aspect, a processing device may determine a condition estimator of the first computing device component, determine whether the condition estimator of the first computing device component indicates that a condition of the first computing device component is worse than the condition of a second computing device component, and assign workloads to the first and second computing device components to balance deterioration of the condition of the first and second computing device components in response to determining that the condition estimator of the first computing device component indicates that the condition of the first computing device component is worse than the condition of the second computing device component.

  • Publication number: 20100308222
Abstract: An edge device for an elevator door includes an elongate array of infrared transmitters and/or receivers and a proximate elongate array of illuminable elements, both arrays extending for a substantial part of the length of the door. The illuminable elements are adapted to be illuminated when the door is in motion. The two arrays are disposed in a common carrier structure, being either vertically interleaved or extending vertically in parallel with each other.

  • Patent number: 7755024
Abstract: A safety sensing system includes an apparatus for use in a doorway having a powered door slidable for closure of the doorway. The apparatus includes radiation transmitters and/or receivers for providing a curtain of detection beams across the doorway, and is formed as a composite structure that includes: a fixative member connectable by securing means to a side of the doorway at a door frame, the fixative member including a first portion of a mating connection means; and, a housing containing a plurality of the transmitters and/or receivers along its length, and including a second portion of the mating connection means for attaching the sealed housing to the fixative member. The mating connection means allows the housing to be removed and replaced while the fixative member remains in situ.

  • Publication number: 20060002324
Abstract: Techniques for dynamically configuring IP and providing IP connectivity for a terminal equipment attached to a wireless device are described. The wireless device obtains from a wireless network a dynamically assigned IP address, an IP gateway's IP address, a subnet mask, or none or any combination thereof. Wireless device determines a host IP address (which may be the dynamically assigned IP address), a router IP address (which may be the gateway IP address or a spoofed IP address), a server IP address (which may be the router IP address), and a subnet mask (which may be obtained from the wireless network or spoofed by the wireless device). Wireless device, acting as a DHCP server, provides IP configuration for the terminal equipment, acting as a DHCP client. Wireless device thereafter forwards IP packets exchanged between the terminal equipment and wireless network and processes DHCP packets from the terminal equipment.

  • Patent number: 5698824
Abstract: In a lift installation in which a multi-beam curtain (primary beam) extends across a lift car door opening, auxiliary transmitters direct secondary beams towards a detection zone in front of landing doors. The multi-beam curtain is intercepted by a passenger entering the lift to prevent premature door closure. However, premature closure is also prevented when a passenger stands in front of the landing doors, thereby causing some of the secondary beam to be reflected onto auxiliary receivers. This provides a low cost solution to the problem of non-detection of an obstruction in the closing path of the landing doors, but not intercepting the primary beam system and also provides an increase in the passenger convenience of the lift, as the doors are held open for a passenger approaching the lift, but not yet interrupting the primary beams.
