  • Publication number: 20140108603
Abstract: The invention refers to a method and a communication system for transmitting in either direction data between any two devices in a client layer and/or a transport layer of a communication system. The data transmission is performed according to the transport control protocol, referred to hereinafter as TCP. In order to achieve a high data transmission rate it is suggested that central storage means (12) for buffering the data to be transmitted and a TCP protocol operation block (10) are provided within the communication system, wherein the TCP protocol operation block (10) handles references on the transported data stored in the storage means (12) instead of the data itself. The invention also refers to an embedded acquisition device (1) located between the two devices of the communication system, between which the data is to be transmitted. The acquisition device (1) comprises means adapted for performing the method according to the present invention.

  • Patent number: 8112738
Abstract: In one embodiment the present invention includes a computer-implemented method of converting first metadata to second metadata using a mapping and custom exits. The metadata is at the M1 level and the mapping is generated based on information at the M2 level. The custom exits provide programmable mapping rules in addition to the mapping. In this manner, metadata created in one modeling environment may be used in another modeling environment.

  • Patent number: 7849455
Abstract: An initial user interface description is transmitted from a generation component to output modalities which include styling components configured to supplement the initial user interface description with layout information. The output modalities each include rendering components configured to render outputs based upon the initial user interface description and the layout information. Initial user interface description delay times between transmitting the initial user interface description from the generation component and rendering the outputs on the rendering components are determined, and a reference delay time is also determined based upon the greater of the initial user interface description delay times.

  • Patent number: 7487453
Abstract: A method is provided that includes receiving a user input, the user input having been input in a user interface in one of multiple modalities. The method also includes accessing, in response to receiving the user input, a multi-modality content document including content information and presentation information, the presentation information supporting presentation of the content information in each of the multiple modalities. In addition, the method includes accessing, in response to receiving the user input, metadata for the user interface, the metadata indicating that the user interface provides a first modality and a second modality for interfacing with a user. First-modality instructions are generated based on the accessed multi-modality content document and the accessed metadata, the first-modality instructions providing instructions for presenting the content information on the user interface using the first modality.
