  • Patent number: 12272053
Abstract: A wearable device may compress the skin of a user when worn, which may affect values determined using sensors of the device. To determine the effect of skin compression on the values, a time-of-flight signal, images, or frames of video data that depict a portion of the body having indentations from wearing the device may be acquired. Characteristics of the images, such as shadows associated with the indentations, may be processed using a machine learning algorithm or mathematical function to determine a depth of various portions of the indentations. Depth data from the time of flight signal may be used to refine or modify these determined depths. The amount of skin compression associated with the indentations may be used to modify signals acquired using sensors, or output a recommendation for a band or other method for securing the device.

  • Patent number: 12172006
Abstract: An electrical stimulation system includes a sheath that includes conductive points that are operative to facilitate electrical stimulation to a bodily portion of a user. Drive-sense circuits (DSCs) generate electrical stimulation signals based on reference signals and provide those electrical stimulation signals via electrodes to the conductive points of the sheath. The electrical stimulation signal is coupled into respective locations of the bodily portion of the user that are in proximity to or in contact with the conductive points of the sheath. In addition, the DSCs sense, via the conductive points of the sheath and via the electrodes, changes of the electrical stimulation signals based on coupling of them into the respective locations of the bodily portion of the user. The DSCs provide digital signals that are representative of the changes of the electrical stimulation signals to one or more processing modules that includes and/or is coupled to memory.

  • Publication number: 20240361866
Abstract: A method for execution by a computing device includes determining to implement a noise prediction and cancellation operation for a touch signal associated with a touch sensor. The method continues during a first time period with turning off a transmitter associated with the touch sensor and obtaining a noise sample of noise associated with the touch sensor, wherein after the first time period is over, the transmitter is turned on. The method continues with generating a noise estimate of the noise based on the noise sample. The method continues during a second time period with obtaining a reduced noise touch signal associated with the touch sensor based on the noise estimate and determining touch data representing a touch of the touch screen based on the reduced noise touch signal, wherein the reduced noise touch signal is produced by subtracting the noise estimate from a current sample of the touch signal.

  • Patent number: 12057196
Abstract: Techniques are described and relate to anisotropic pooling for contextual embedding of a protein sequence. In an example, a system receives a first biological sequence and determines a sequence arrangement that comprises a component of the first biological sequence and a second biological sequence of components. By using an artificial intelligence (AI) model, the system determines a third sequence that comprises a contextual embedding vector corresponding to the component of the first biological sequence. The AI model generates the third sequence based at least in part on the sequence arrangement and by at least using a convolution and anisotropic pooling.

  • Publication number: 20240204579
Abstract: A device operative to transfer power and communicate wirelessly includes a drive-sense circuit (DSC), memory that stores operational instructions, and processing module(s). The DSC generates a drive signal based on a reference signal and provides the drive signal to a first coil via a single line and via a resonating capacitor, and simultaneously senses the drive signal via the single line, to facilitate electromagnetic coupling to a second coil to transfer power wirelessly to another device. The DSC also detects electrical characteristic(s) of the drive signal including whether a communication signal is transmitted from another device and generates a digital signal representative thereof.
