  • Publication number: 20070089828
Abstract: A filter and method of making is provided. The method comprising: forming a plurality of sheets of filter media, each sheet of filter media having an inlet end and an outlet end, wherein each of the plurality of sheets of filter media are formed by the steps of: thermoforming a first layer of filtration media to have a plurality of channels, the first layer having an upper surface and a lower surface; sonically welding a portion of a second layer of filtration media to the first layer of filtration media to form the sheet of filtration media, the sheet of filtration media having a plurality of fluid channels each having an inlet opening at one end of the sheet and a sealed end at another end of the sheet; and securing the plurality of sheets together by applying a strip of adhesive between each upper surface of each first layer facing the second layer of another sheet of filter media stacked upon the upper surface of the first layer of the filtration media.

  • Publication number: 20070034843
Abstract: An apparatus for holding at least one vehicle ramp member is provided. The apparatus includes a pad configured to receive at least a first vehicle wheel proximate a first end of the pad and a second vehicle wheel proximate a second end of the pad. The apparatus further includes a first holding member coupled to the pad proximate the first end of the pad. The first holding member is configured to hold a first vehicle ramp member at a first predetermined position on the pad. The pad supports the second vehicle wheel when the first vehicle wheel contacts the first vehicle ramp member thereby preventing movement of the pad by the first vehicle wheel.

  • Publication number: 20060070364
Abstract: A filter, comprising: a plurality of individual elongated members arranged into a configuration, each of the plurality of elongated members having an internal cavity extending completely therethrough, the plurality of individual elongated members being formed from a filter media for filtering a fluid, the filter having a first end and a second end defined by the ends of the plurality of individual elongated members and a plurality of areas defined between each of the plurality of individual elongated members, wherein fluid flow is blocked at the first end by sealing the plurality of areas at the first end with a sealing material and fluid flow is blocked at the second end by sealing the internal cavity of each of the plurality of individual elongated members at the second end with a sealing material, wherein fluid flow through the filter must pass through the filter media.

  • Publication number: 20050056595
Abstract: A fuel filter assembly for a combustion engine, including a two-part filter housing, a filter element, and a restriction sensor, including an external visual display apparatus for indicating when to replace the filter element. As fluid pressure increases within the filter housing, the visual display apparatus correspondingly displays the increase in pressure. When the pressure sensor detects an amount of pressure at or in excess of a predetermined amount, the visual display apparatus indicates replacement of the filter element. A modified embodiment including an electronic pressure sensor and a remote display unit is also described.

  • Patent number: 6349836
Abstract: A filter assembly is provided having a generally cylindrical housing defining a housing edge. A filtering element is disposed in the housing for filtering the fluid. A generally circular unitary tapping plate is also provided having a fluid inlet port, a fluid outlet port, and mounting means for removably mounting the filter assembly to the fluid circulation system. The unitary tapping plate further having a generally U-shaped portion defining an inboard seal retaining groove and a wing portion extending radially outwardly from said U-shaped portion. The edge of the housing surrounds the tapping plate and is folded inwardly over the wing portion of the tapping plate such that a free end of the housing edge generally terminates in the seal-retaining groove. The filter assembly also includes an external seal having a generally rectangular cross-section that is retained in the seal retaining groove.

  • Patent number: 6155431
Abstract: A filter assembly is provided having a housing defining a housing edge. A tapping plate is also provided and is generally circular in shape. The tapping plate defines a tapping plate edge and includes a fluid inlet port and a fluid outlet port. Preferably, the at least one fluid outlet port is a central threaded aperture to enable the filter assembly to be secured to a filter mount of an engine. An interconnecting device is included for interconnecting the housing and the tapping plate. The interconnecting device further retains an external seal generally about the tapping plate edge. The external seal is an economically formed lathe-cut gasket and the interconnecting device includes a first and second extension member. The first extension member is formed integrally with the tapping plate at the tapping plate edge. The second extension member is formed integrally with the housing at the housing edge.
