  • Publication number: 20240082629
Abstract: Among other things, a rowing technology includes a first rowing machine having an electromagnetic brake providing a resistance to a rower of the machine in each rowing stroke of a series of rowing strokes of the rower An electronic controller causes the resistance of the electromagnetic brake to vary over each rowing stroke in a profile that emulates resistance to which another rower in a shell on water or on a second rowing machine is subjected in each rowing stroke of a corresponding series of rowing strokes.

  • Patent number: 11113351
Abstract: A method includes acquiring data from sources of search query data. The data indicates searches performed at multiple search engines. The method includes identifying a set of search terms from the data, determining a number of times each of the identified set of search terms was searched, and generating a search count for each of the identified set of search terms based on the number of times each of the identified set of search terms was searched. The method includes classifying, based on predetermined criteria, the searches for the identified set of search terms as being active or passive, assigning weights according to predetermined rules to each of the searches based on whether each of the searches is active or passive, and generating weighted search counts by multiplying the search counts with respective weights. The method includes generating a score indicating an interest level in the first search term.

  • Patent number: 6630888
Abstract: A mirror assembly for a vehicle includes a housing configured for attachment to the vehicle, and a mirror pane configured for attachment to the housing. The mirror pane has a reflective surface defining a first portion and a second portion, the reflective surface being partially removed such that the first and second portions are partially reflective and partially transmissive. At least one picture taking apparatus is located on a rear side of the mirror pane and adjacent the first portion of the mirror pane, and a sensor is located on the rear side of the mirror pane for sensing an ambient light level. A radiation emitting element is located on the rear side of the mirror pane, the second portion being disposed in front of the radiation emitting display element such that the radiation emitting element emits light at least partially through the second portion. The radiation emitting element is activated upon the sensor element sensing an ambient light level below a predetermined level.

  • Patent number: 6390631
Abstract: Described is a system for the automatic adjustment of external mirrors when driving in curves by vehicles, in particular commercial vehicles with a tow, tractor-trailers, articulated buses and the like. This system possesses a sensor for the detection of turning of the vehicle about a vertical axis, a control apparatus which is connected to said sensor and one electromotive mirror adjustment apparatus connected with the control apparatus for the tracking of the external mirror above a zero point corresponding to the turning of the vehicle about its vertical axis. The sensor for the detection of the turning movement of the vehicle about its vertical axis is, in this application, a turn-rate sensor based on gyroscopic principles.

  • Publication number: 20020014975
Abstract: A rearview mirror (2) is described, especially for motor vehicles, in which in the direction of a top view, at least one radiation emitting display element (8) is placed behind the mirror pane (6), which emits through the said mirror pane (6). The display element (8) can emit light in the visible range or in the infrared range. Said display element (8) is preferred as a light emitting diode (10) or a seven segment display. The object of the present invention can, for instance, be combined with a so-called back-up aid, whereby then the display element(s) (8) can display back-up distance data or distance codes between the tailgate and an obstruction or a target of back-up maneuvering.
