Abstract: A method for automatically generating an ultrasonic inspection plan for parts to be inspected includes collecting data relating to the ultrasonic inspection planning by displaying an input screen that prompts a user to input the pertinent data. The inspection parameters to be used in the ultrasonic inspections are then calculated from the collected data, and the calculated parameters are formatted into an inspection plan document. A tool for carrying out this method can be implemented on any computer-readable medium.

Abstract: A system for producing a process advisor application uses a process mapping program, a compiler and a program such as a Java servlet to produce a process advisor application. The process mapping program is used to create a decision tree, and the compiler compiles the decision tree into a data file. The data file is then converted into one or more computer viewable documents, such as web pages.

Abstract: An Integration Controller integrates broadcast automation systems and thereby provides a single command and control center for monitoring production of the audio and video stream. An event-based schedule, or a “playlist,” specifies the segments to be played along with the necessary timing and hardware information. Each event in the schedule commands the playback or record of a video segment, generation of a special effect, transfer of a video segment from one device to another or closure of one or more video switches. Events may be launched automatically at a specified time, or manually by an operator. An Integration Controller (IC) communicates with an Event Scheduling System via a Scheduling System Interface. The Scheduling System Interface communicates with the Integration Controller via the IC server. The IC server utilizes various modules to communicate with Device Drivers, a Log Manager and one or more User Interfaces.

Abstract: A system and method are proposed wherein knowledge and tools for solving business problems are accessible through a single distribution point. The wizard central system and method allows for developing, approving, revising, searching for and using of web based wizards or tools. After use, the wizards or tools can be stored in a centralized solution repository for later retrieval and analysis. The wizards and tools are categorized based on pre-defined criteria. Searches are thus limited by the categorization and the user is shown only wizards and tools which are applicable to the business problem. The system also provides an approval and revision workflow for the wizards and tools. This workflow provides the capability of revising the wizard or tool knowledge base to keep it current with evolving expert opinion and design documentation.

Abstract: An internet-based system and method are provided for giving guidance to a user relating to a task, in response to user input data. A dynamic structure asks key questions of the user, then provides guidance in response to the user entered data. This approach provides the logic to link the needs of the user, with the appropriate guided response. With the present invention, dynamic web pages generated by a server side knowledge engine present a series of questions to the user, with guidance generated as the user responds to the questions. The web-based script can then be linked to any html or Java based software to initiate the decision making process.

Abstract: A system and method for predicting the timing and costs of future service events. A scheduler determines a list of future service events for the product. A simulator simulates each of the listed future service events for the product and predicts the costs associated with the events. The list of the future service events and the total of the predicted costs are aggregated into a prediction that may be used in offering long term service agreements to maintain the product.
