Abstract: A tool includes an elongate rigid shaft having a first end and a second end, wherein the first end of the shaft forms a first connector element. The tool further includes a fork having a base section, first and second prongs extending distally from the base section, and a second connector element formed with the base section. The second connector element is configured to form a mating connection with the first connector element, wherein the first and second connector elements have complementary non-circular circumferential profiles configured for one of the connector elements to fit closely within another of the connector elements and prevent angular deflection and axial rotation between the connector elements.

Abstract: An apparatus includes an elongate shaft having a first passageway extending therethrough, a housing secured to the shaft, a cam buckle, and a flexible strap extending through the shaft and housing. The housing includes a buckle chamber, a chamber window, and a second passageway extending through the buckle chamber into communication with the first passageway. The cam buckle is secured within the buckle chamber, wherein the cam buckle includes a frame and a cam member pivotably secured to the frame. The cam member includes a gripping surface and a release button accessible through the chamber window. The strap includes a first end secured to a rigid member within the shaft or housing and an accessible second end. The strap forms a loop adjacent a distal end of the shaft for receiving an object, wherein pulling the strap causes the loop to tighten around the object.

Abstract: A tool includes an elongate shaft having a proximal end and a distal end, a handle disposed on the proximal end of the elongate shaft, a hook secured to the distal end of the elongate shaft, a housing slidably secured around the elongate shaft between the proximal and distal ends of the shaft, and a clutch-lock mechanism integrated into the housing and including a manually actuatable trigger. The clutch-lock mechanism passively grips the elongate shaft to prevent the housing from sliding toward the proximal end of the elongate shaft. However, manual actuation of the trigger releases the clutch-lock mechanism to allow the housing to slide toward the proximal end of the elongate shaft. The tool may be used to manipulate a grating panel.
