  • Patent number: 11669647
Abstract: A system can include a key cartridge, which can include a housing, an enabling key component, and an electrical connector. The housing may be sized for placement at least partially over or around a latch release mechanism of a slidable rack sled and in a position to obstruct access to the latch release mechanism. The enabling key component can be positioned within the housing and enable operation of an electrical component situated within the slidable rack sled. The electrical connector can be coupled with the enabling key component and sized and positioned for establishing electrical connection between the enabling key component and the electrical component situated within the slidable rack sled when the pluggable key cartridge is installed relative to the server rack sled.

  • Patent number: 7453707
Abstract: A method and system for housing electronic components includes a chassis having a first sub-chassis slidably dockable into a first end of the chassis. The first sub-chassis houses a first set of electronic components and includes a backplane to electrically couple the first set of electronic components to a second set of electronic components located adjacent to the first sub-chassis. The second set of electronic components is housed in a second sub-chassis, which is accessible via a second end of the chassis. The backplane is accessible by slidably undocking the first sub-chassis without removal of any one of the second set of electronic components. Some of the second set of electronic components are accessible by slidably undocking the first sub-chassis and without removal of the backplane.

  • Patent number: 7203067
Abstract: An apparatus for securing a modular component comprises a jointed cam arm including a first portion and a second portion pivotally connected to the first portion. A flexible member is included on the first portion. A pivot limiting catch is included on the second portion, the catch being operable to engage with the flexible member to position the first portion at an angle relative to the second portion. In response to a force applied to the first portion sufficient to flex the flexible member, the first portion is pivotable to reduce the relative angle with the second portion.

  • Patent number: 7126828
Abstract: A card retention system comprises a chassis and a bracket provided to secure to the chassis by a first retention member. The first retention member is selectively oriented in one of a first position and a second position. The first position limits lateral movement of the bracket. The second position limits lateral and vertical movement of the bracket. A second retention member may also be provided on the chassis to resiliently engage the bracket to limit vertical movement of the bracket on the chassis.

  • Patent number: 6762932
Abstract: A method and system for mounting an information handling system disk drive with one or more storage disk drives coupled to an information handling system circuit board so that components of the information handling system are disposed in the space between the storage disk drive and the circuit board. In one embodiment, a server blade mounts plural hard disk drives to a motherboard with tool-less shoulder screws that elevate the hard disk drives relative to the motherboard to allow space for interfacing components, such as a bridge chip and video chip, with the motherboard below the hard disk drive. Cooling air flows through the space between the motherboard and the hard disk drives to cool plural processors interfaced with the motherboard.

  • Patent number: 6070742
Abstract: A foldable cable management apparatus for holding cables in a rack mounted system. The apparatus includes a plurality of segments pivotally attached to one another. One or more of the plurality of segments include cable trays for holding the cables and include cable fasteners. One or more of the plurality of segments is adapted to nest with other segments so that the combined depth of the apparatus is less than the sum of the depths of the individual segments.
