Patent number: 12048368Abstract: A tool attachment system is provided. The tool attachment system includes a tool attachment device and a receiver that cooperate to lock or secure, for example, a bag or pouch. When the tool attachment device is coupled to the receiver, a locking mechanism locks the tool attachment device to the receiver in a locked position. To remove the tool attachment device, a user applies a force to a button to cause the tool attachment device to disengage from the receiver.Type: GrantFiled: May 2, 2023Date of Patent: July 30, 2024Assignee: Milwaukee Electric Tool CorporationInventors: Aaron S. Patent number: 12029270Abstract: A hard hat attachment system is described with front, back, and side mounts to support various accessories. Mounts of hard hat receive slots of a bracket that fit around the ridges. Auxiliary ridges receive clips within ports. The user customizes the hard hat for the particular task with the preferred accessories used to complete the job. For example, lamps, face-shields, reflectors, tool carriers, and eyeglass holders are interchangeably releasably coupled to mounting and/or auxiliary ridges on the hard hat. In this way, the hard hat is customized and/or modified to support a wide variety of accessories that are securely and releasably attached to mounting and/or auxiliary ridges without destructive alterations to the hard hat. Brackets couple to mounts and clips couple to ports to secure and/or lock various accessories in place during operation and prevent accidental knocks or jarring the accessory loose.Type: GrantFiled: January 5, 2023Date of Patent: July 9, 2024Assignee: Milwaukee Electric Tool CorporationInventors: Benjamin T. Patent number: 11986932Abstract: A rotary impact tool including a motor having a motor shaft that produces a rotational output to drive a gear assembly and a drive assembly driven by the gear assembly. The drive assembly including a hammer coupled to the motor shaft and an anvil configured to receive an impact from the hammer. The rotary impact tool includes a torque stick coupled to the anvil and configured to limit the amount of deliverable torque to a workpiece in accordance with a torsional stiffness of the torque stick, a position sensor to detect angular displacement of the anvil, and a controller in electrical communication with the position sensor. The controller calculates torque delivered to the workpiece from the impact by multiplying the torsional stiffness of the torque stick and the signal from the position sensor, and control the motor based on the torque delivered to the workpiece.Type: GrantFiled: October 8, 2021Date of Patent: May 21, 2024Assignee: MILWAUKEE ELECTRIC TOOL CORPORATIONInventors: Jonathan E. Publication number: 20240075599Abstract: A torque wrench including a head, a handle, a primary beam, a secondary beam, and a torque adjustment mechanism. The primary beam couples the head and the handle for co-rotation about the rotational axis and the primary beam includes a first end adjacent the head and a second end adjacent the handle. The secondary beam is coupled to the head for rotation with the head about the rotational axis and the secondary beam is movable relative to the primary beam and the handle. The torque adjustment mechanism adjusts a torque setting of the primary beam relative to the secondary beam. The torque adjustment mechanism includes a thumb adjustment wheel that a user rotates about a first axis to adjust the torque setting by moving the second end of the primary beam relative to the handle along a second axis offset from the first axis.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 10, 2023Publication date: March 7, 2024Inventors: Kyle Reeder, Aaron M. Publication number: 20240075591Abstract: Pliers are provided. Pliers include an upper handle, a lower handle, an upper jaw coupled to the upper handle, and a lower jaw coupled to the lower handle. In general, the upper jaw includes workpiece engagement surface, such a first set of teeth configured to engage a workpiece, and the lower jaw includes a workpiece engagement surface, such as a second set of teeth and a third set of teeth. The lower jaw opposes the upper jaw such that the first set of teeth faces the second set of teeth and the third set of teeth. At least a section of the workpiece engagement surface of the lower jaw is movably coupled to the lower jaw such that it moves relative to the lower as torque is applied to a workpiece, thereby increasing torque applied to the workpiece.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 8, 2023Publication date: March 7, 2024Inventors: Aaron S. Blumenthal, Christopher S. Hoppe, Aaron M. Williams

Publication number: 20230410385Abstract: The systems described in this disclosure can be used in construction settings to facilitate the tasks being performed. The location of projectors and augmented reality headsets can be calculated and used to determine what images to display to a worker, based on a map of work to be performed, such as a construction plan. Workers can use spatially-aware tools to make different locations be plumb, level, or equidistant with other locations. Power to tools can be disabled if they are near protected objects.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 30, 2023Publication date: December 21, 2023Inventors: Samuel A. Publication number: 20230339127Abstract: A utility knife including a handle, a blade, a first blade holder, and a spare blade holder. The spare blade holder is pivotal with respect to the handle between an open position where the recess is exposed to allow a spare blade to be removed from the spare blade holder and a closed position where the recess is within a slot of the handle to inhibit removal of the spare blade from the spare blade holder. The spare blade holder further including a cam surface and the cam surface of the spare blade holder engages a cam surface of the handle when the spare blade holder is in the closed position to urge the spare blade holder in a direction from a first longitudinal side of the handle toward a second longitudinal side of the handle to allow the first blade holder to pivot between extended and folded positions.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 29, 2023Publication date: October 26, 2023Inventors: Grant T. Publication number: 20230339080Abstract: A hand tool for driving a fastener is provided. The hand tool includes gearing that interconnects a splined socket to a rotatable or trigger actuator and increases a rotational speed of the splined socket relative to the actuator. The hand tool may include a power tool receiver 38 or an independent motor to drive rotation of the splined socket to advance or retract a fastener from a threaded shaft. By increasing the speed and conserving rotational inertia, the hand tool reduces the time to secure a fastener on a threaded shaft. A rotatable nut is provided. The rotatable nut can slideably orient along a first axis and threadedly orient along a second axis to fasten to an adjacent surface.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 27, 2023Publication date: October 26, 2023Inventors: Christopher S.
