  • Publication number: 20240151135
Abstract: There is provided a wellbore measuring apparatus according to one aspect. The wellbore measuring apparatus includes an outer body that is tubular with spaced-apart ends threaded for connection in line with a drill string. The outer body has a plurality of recesses extending around the outer surface thereof in one or more helical patterns. The wellbore measuring apparatus includes a plurality of sensors operatively coupled to and each positioned within a respective said recess of the outer body. Each sensor is arranged to measure at least one characteristic of a wellbore. The wellbore measuring apparatus may include at least one rib coupled to and extending radially outwards from the outer surface of the outer body. The at least one rib is helical in shape and with the plurality of sensors extending along and being adjacent to the at least one rib.

  • Publication number: 20240000238
Abstract: Spring modules for an adjustable sleeping system. At least some of the example embodiments are spring modules comprising: a spring rail, and a plurality of adjustable spring assemblies spaced along the length of the spring rail. Each adjustable spring assembly may comprise: a motor with a stator coupled to the spring rail via a load cell, a lead screw coupled to a rotor of the motor, and the lead screw extending above an upper surface of the spring rail, a spring plate coupled to the lead screw, and a main spring coupled to the spring plate. A tubular sock disposed over the main spring, and a compliant insert can be disposed between adjacent main springs to inhibit side loading and maintain the main spring in upright relation with the spring rail.

  • Publication number: 20230008095
Abstract: Apparatus for measuring the profile of a wellbore includes a cylindrical body having first and second ends threaded for connection in line with a drill string. A passage extends through the body between the first and second ends. A plurality of arms are pivotally coupled on an outer surface of the cylindrical body. Each of the arms is biased to pivot so as to move a free end of the arm to move radially away from the outer surface of the body. The plurality of arms are angularly spaced apart around the cylindrical body and arranged in a plurality of tiers. Each of the tiers comprises three or more of the arms. The tiers are spaced apart axially from one another along the cylindrical body. Sensors are operable to directly or indirectly measure radial extension of each of the arms from the cylindrical body. A holding mechanism is operable to hold the arms in a retracted configuration and to selectively release the arms to pivot away from the cylindrical body.

  • Patent number: 9941700
Abstract: An energy system includes renewable energy sources each including an inverter. The renewable source inverters are coupled to a distribution line in a manner wherein power combines additively. The system also includes an energy storage source including an energy storage inverter coupled to the distribution line between the point of interconnection and the renewable source inverters. Finally, a control system is structured to: (i) control a voltage at the point of interconnection by controlling a renewable source reactive power output by the renewable source inverters and an energy storage reactive power output by the energy storage inverter, and (ii) provide power ramp rate control for the renewable energy system by controlling at least one of a renewable source real power output by each of the renewable source inverters and a first energy storage real power output by the energy storage inverter.

  • Patent number: 9219363
Abstract: A photovoltaic system includes a photovoltaic array and a DC/AC inverter. The photovoltaic array includes an output, a plurality of photovoltaic strings each including a plurality of photovoltaic modules electrically connected in series to form an output having a first direct current voltage, and a plurality of DC/DC converters each including a first maximum power point tracking mechanism for a corresponding one of the photovoltaic strings, an input of the output of the corresponding one of the photovoltaic strings, and an output having a second direct current voltage. Each output of the DC/DC converters is electrically connected in parallel or series to form the output of the photovoltaic array having a direct current voltage. The DC/AC inverter includes a second maximum power point tracking mechanism for the photovoltaic array, an input of the output of the photovoltaic array, and an output having an alternating current voltage.
