  • Method and system for retaining MICR code format

    Abstract: An image capture system for retaining Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR) code format comprises a camera operable to generate an electronic check image of a physical check, with the electronic check image operable to generate an image replacement document. The image capture system further comprises a scanner operable to identify MICR code data from the physical check and one or more processors. The one or more processors are operable to embed the identified MICR code data in the electronic check image, with the embedded MICR code data in the original format.
